  1. I'd like this to be a lot like last year's home game against these guys, only not as close
  2. +10000000
  3. Look, drive defense was once again poor and the open shots didn't fall, but hot damn Akron just won at Buffalo for the first time since Nate Linhart was here! This isn't UB's worst team since the losing streak started so it's not like the opponent's level has mattered in that gym in the past. The mission was to win: mission accomplished.
  4. Kwan playing really well at both ends but the last to fouls seemed like bad calls to me. Too bad.
  5. Judging a team solely based on OOC is dumb though. When you look good, you look good. When you look bad, you look bad. EMU hasn't been very impressive this year whether it's Coppin State or MSU. They are a tough team but I don't think they're tops right now at all.
  6. Reminds me of Gronk
  7. I'd be so embarrassed if I were part of that program
  8. Tell me what aspects Jimond is good at right now. His thing is attacking the basket and he's not doing that with much success right now. If you can't drive, shoot, or defend well, it doesn't matter where you play or what system you play in.
  9. It's been 7 years since Akron has won in that gym. Assuming everyone is back healthy, we SHOULD win but that's been the case just about every time we go here, so... Lots of new faces this year for the Bulls. Their new coach Nate Oats is very likable and his wife is battling cancer. I wish them nothing but the best. They're 7-6 and have beaten who they should beat and lost to who they should have lost to. I'd expect nothing less than a typical Akron-Buffalo grind it I out battle. Go Zips!!!!
  10. If not for the Abreu thing the 12-13 Zips would have finished 15-1 in MAC play and gone to the tournament with a 27-6 record. Heck, throw in the Coastal game and Okie State games that Harney and Tree missed because of the clerical error and that team could have very well ended up with 29-30 wins and a 10-11 seed. None of that matters but beating a sweet 16 participant that returns it's whole team 3 times (twice by 14+) in a season tops anything that the 06-07 team did. NOW DO SOMETHING THAT HASN'T BEEN DONE SINCE THE LINHART DAYS AND WIN AT BUFFALO
  11. U Ass lost to Colorado by like 30
  12. Can't's DC will go to Toledo and Toledo's is following Campbell to ISU.
  13. It's probably precautionary from the ankle sprain during practice in Vegas
  14. I didn't see the whole thing but it sounded like this may have been Ivey's best game.
  15. There are only a handful of MAC teams that don't play multiple non D 1 opponents
  16. Boomer Sooner
  17. VMI home Wisconsin away App State home Marshall away BG home Ohio away Can't away Miami home Buffalo away CMU away WMU home NIU home We last played WMU in the game that...uh...yeah and that was in the Zoo in 2011, so I'm damn near positive we'll play them at home (last time we did was 2010--also not pretty). We'll close the "series" with CMU on the road and that leaves one more home game for either NIU or Toledo. We haven't played either since 2013 and UT was at home so I'm going with NIU. As far as I know, there's no rules when it comes to "playing the last game at their place so the next one is a home game" in regards to East vs. West, but by that logic, this will be the schedule.
  18. Nobody is saying that it's going to happen. The only thing being discussed is what needs to happen in order to get the at large.
  19. I don't know, if you've seen how the rest of the MAC has played this year, 30-3 isn't as unrealistic as you'd think. It's likelihood is still astronomical, but everyone has been been either a) beating up on cupcakes b ) putting up poor performances against MAC level mid majors or c) both a and b. When the marquee win for the conference is either Akron beating Arkansas or Ball State beating Valpo, it's probably a down year. (Damn that Green Bay game)
  20. The more impressive fact to me about the 7 MAC teams in bowl games is that all 7 won at least 7 regular season games. That's more important than the fact that there are 7 in a bowl game.
  21. Also did between 2013 and 2014, IIRC
  22. App State and GSo are great teams. I was impressed that Ohio could hang with App but the GSo beat down was pretty surprising. I wasn't necessarily expecting BG to win, but a 31 point loss never crossed my mind.
  23. How the hell did Utah State beat Boise by 26?
  24. 8-3 since Pitt. I love this team.
  25. Sounded like there were a bunch of Zips fans there. I don't know if it was mostly Noah's friends and family, but either way it sounded like it would have been a lot of fun to be there this afternoon.
