The only call that really pissed me off was weird. It was after a made basket or something and after getting the inbounds pass, I think it was Simmons that just knocked Antino straight to the floor. It wasn't dirty or anything but it was an obvious foul. Of course DarrylSmith aka the second worst ref in the MAC was standing right next to it and waited like 3 seconds after Antino was on the floor to blow the whistle. He must have been daydreaming or something.

So I see we play at noon next Thursday? The one seed always plays that game at 6:30! F$&! THAT! The MAC really pisses me off sometimes. Great win though!

Easy there, 2019 is still a few years away. Don't make assumptions yet. I do like this though. 1.1M to play an unfamiliar opponent that is geographically friendly.

They got the rebound with 6.6 left on the clock and from rebound to the shot it was a little over 7 seconds, so no, it wouldn't have counted. I'll go back and check later but I'm pretty sure that's what it was.

I think Thompson will eventually transfer. His frustration is clearly visible in most games.

Parents would rather go to their children's games and support them rather than Akron basketball probably, and they should support their loved ones. There are also some HS players and a few HS coaches that have obligations. Maybe a handful of fans would prefer high school basketball, but UA (and the rest of the MAC, this is happening everywhere this year) isnt really competing with high schools.

That was a snoozer, in a good way though.

The last two losing streaks of two games this season have led to a lengthy winning streak. Let's see that happen again.

For the third (?) time in this awful stretch of Zips basketball, teams close behind in the standings have all lost as well. Tonight, Ohio, Kent, Ball State, and UB sit at 9-6, one back of the 10-5 Zips. Now we realistically could be up three games right now if not for awful performances like tonight, and honestly I'm surprised that no one has even been able to tie us. Is this just a compilation of missed opportunities to run away with the regular season, or is it just destiny that we get the one seed? I'm leaning toward missed opportunities but regardless of how you feel, this MAC basketball season has been incredible. I may have to take a sick day on Thursday of the tournament to go to both sessions.
