  1. I don't know about nepotism, but it is probably more like a hungry young coach so eager to sit in the big chair that he makes a bad career decision. Duquesne is a historically bad program. I said months ago he would regret the decision.
  2. I find myself speechless.
  3. It's a program with high expectations. The past 20 years they have had 10 winning season and 5 minimum ten win seasons. They have struggled more in the past 10. The move to the American Conference hasn't been good for them. They seem to be having trouble finding the right guy to solve their bad administration decisions. That's a tough fix.
  4. I think timing is the biggest issue right now. There are a lot of government hiring rules that have to be followed. Typically, a university hires a recruiting firm to sift through the candidates. I wonder if it is possible through a FOIA request to discover if a contract with a recruiting firm has been signed. If one has not been signed yet, firing Joe probably isn't in the works. If so, you may have your answer.
  5. Next year Indiana will go back to looking just like Kansas this year.
  6. Princeton makes the post season a lot. They also lose in the first round of whatever tournament they make a lot. I would like to see Akron play at least ONE team that has to play difficult games all year long.
  7. What about the money? If the football team can be whored out, so can every other program.
  8. Basketball isn't the same as football.
  9. You are using extreme examples. There are plenty of P4 teams Akron is capable of competing well against and put a little pizzazz on the schedule. Princeton?
  10. Good grief..... They should play at least one P5 school. That's not too much to ask.
  11. This showcase is the punchline to what is a comically bad ooc schedule.
  12. Towards the end there is a great discussion on when to stop asking. Too many young people in the workforce go from asking to complaining to malcontent. At some point a person can't become noise within an organization or everyone else will do what they always do with noise and tune it out.
  13. If we could get Jim Grobe as advisor, it would complete the trifecta. Seriously, this would be high schoolish beyond belief. I don't even think Akron would do this.
  14. I call them losers.
  15. I'm 55 and don't think I've ever seen a worse Kent State team. Right or wrong?
  16. That's not excuse. I went to a sports bar in Raleigh because my hotel didn't have CBS Sports.
  17. There is a lot outside of just the players and coaches that has to change before I believe a corner has been turned. The Zips had a really good win last night, but that's short term. If the Zips played as well last night against top tier mac schools, they would be going to a bowl, but Kent has a way of making teams look better than they are.

  20. This is a really entertaining game so far.
  21. It is important to a lot of people.
  22. Get 96 out of the game. His stupidity is a liability.
