They can't be this stupid.
-
The guy who fair caught on the 3 should never go in for another return. They can't afford this level of stupidity and expect to win games. I'm out west right now and went on the new app to see where the game would be televised. I was pleasantly surprised to see the app knows where you are and updates the game start time based upon your time zone.

I put $40 on the Zips last night at Circa in Las Vegas. Feeling good about my bet.

A lot of marathoners crap their pants during the race. Let's hope that doesn't, either literally or figuratively, happened to the Zips Saturday.

I think Akron is going to go off tomorrow. They will get a big lead like they did against Temple and not give it up. Akron will win by more than 10.

Paying the scholarship is a small price to pay to get rid of someone who doesn't want to be around.

It is sad because it is small time thinking. Below is my reasoning. First, if KY wants out, don't let the door hit you in the caboose. These contracts tend to have buyout clauses and if they want to exercise it, that was the agreement. Bye. Why is it sad? The official frames the situation as presented. When talking to a fan and especially one who owns the fan board, put a positive spin on the situation. Say you wish the game remained the same but you believe the athletic department will put together a game and game day experience that will be just as good for the athletes, students, alumni, fans and general community as it would for KY.....and then freaking do it. The idea that our destiny lies in the hands of P5 schools is one that I dislike the most. It's the small vision the MAC has for itself and it absolutely reject it out of hand. It's the idea that what KY fans may do that defines a successful day that I dislike. Our success isn't defined by KY flags and fan counts. It is defined by Akron using a football game to benefit the athletes, students, alumni, fans and general community that defines success. That can also be accomplished by playing any G5 school.

Smear a boatload of bacon grease on the road in front of your house, sit back and enjoy the show.

There is nothing to be conflicted about. They aren't whores for money. MAC football programs are victims of a lack of vision from the Conference leadership to the athletic directors. Even the Sun Belt displays better vision for their league.

I was going to say something about marathoners being borderline mentally unstable and if a few get run over by a few Zips fans trying to attend a game, nobody would probably care. I won't though because that would be mean and I've tried to move beyond that kind of thinking.

The Zips should be 3-1 right now. This is far from a crappy team. There isn't a team left on the schedule Akron can't beat. They just need to put it together.

If there ever was a team to run the ball against, Buffalo is it. They have given up over 1,000 yards on the ground already this year.
-
Some things are black and white. Winning is one of those. Odd statistical anolimies are interesting, but frequently meaningless.
-
It's designed that way. The Conference probably sees the results as reaffirmation of their plan.

There is some pearl clutching on the board about the MAC not beating the Big Ten this year. That's not worth worrying about. What is cause for worry is the poor showing against other G5 schools yesterday. EMU lost to Jacksonville St. If I'm not mistaken, they were D2 not long ago. Horrible loss for Kent, Ball State and EMU blown out by G5 schools. NIU, CMU and Buffalo lose closer games, but still.... These measuring sticks are important for the MAC on a credibility level because they are results against like schools. The MAC failed badly yesterday. However, when television revenue trumps winning, these are the results.

This is not a real problem.

After a timeout.

Getsy coached a Hall of Fame in Green Bay. Now he has to coach a Hall of Shamer in Chicago.

I swear, this is fantastic abuse. Games like this should be played at noon so the teams can get in and out quickly, and the fans can go on with their day. If you are going to legally steal from your fans, at least do it in broad daylight.

How about some touchdowns? You know, something to cheer for....

Can't disagree. I would only add that both coaches had "their guys" at QB when they went bowling. Luke came with JD from Pitt and I'm pretty certain Bowden had his by 2015. He had to have because he started in 2012. Joe still doesn't have "his guy". I'm not overly concerned about this , but I am a little concerned and it brings me to some questions. Is what we have really the best we have? If someone younger is on the team with better long term potential, why isn't he starting at this point? When Dave Clawson got to Wake Forest, he recruited and started as a freshman future LA Rams back-up John Wolford. He got killed his freshman and sophomore seasons and went 3-9 both seasons. Bowl seasons junior and senior seasons though. Something clicked. Nothing is even coming close to clicking right now for Akron. Joe needs "his guy" QB and he needs to live and die with him. He needs to identify this player, make a clear decision and see it through as quickly as possible. If this guy is on the team, play him. If not, find one this off season and show every guy in the QB room currently on the team the URL for the transfer portal. Are there examples for this working at schools that were struggling, yes. I just noted Wolford, and Sanders is doing pretty good at Colorado with "his guy". Joe needs to do the same thing.

Maybe in 1995, but not in 2023.
