  1. Hudl highlights of kicking look very good. Welcome to the Zip familty.
  2. Not trying to start a major rebellion, but didn't he not show up for his day at Akron a couple of years ago? We had many fans in lot 9 fired up and ready to meet him and acknowledge his great success, and he chose not to come. I respect what he did as a player, but he needsto support your alma mater. Please respond if I have not read this situation correctly. Note: I feel the same way about Joe Jakubic. What a great player!
  3. Let's hope that the Steelers do not appreciate him and he ends up with the Browns!!!!!!!
  4. Here's hoping that Alex Reese from Euclid also had a good game since he is a DL commit.

  6. yes he did. I hope he becomes all pro.
  7. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/cleveland-browns-53-man-roster-prediction-ahead-of-saturday-e2-80-99s-cut-down-deadline/ar-BB18DAtA?ocid=uxbndlbing Not everyone thinks that Natson will be successful. Is GT ever accurate?
  8. I think that this is a loss if he was planning to come back in 2021. Not a huge loss, but a decent player to bridge the gap to the future. Coach Arth has recruited many large DL, but it still remains to be seen if they are talented or if they can play. I would have loved to see some senior leadership as they work in the many future defensive linemen. Good luck, and I hope that this decision works out for you. Go Zips
  9. How does the process work with Covid and the cancellation of MAC sports?. Dylan did not red shirt, but this fall was to be his senior year. Is the NCAA awarding everyone another year? If so, how will the schools pay for it? I am curious on how college sports is going to work going forward. At this point, i do not think that any decision has been made nor have I heard of any solid plan that makes everyone happy.
  10. True, but he is less tiny now than he was out of high school.
  11. I was looking up information on Karey Lee to learn a little about a recruit. It looks like he was a 2018 or 2019 graduate from Georgia and played CB. He had zero stars with 247 out of high school. It looks like originally he only had one FCS offer at Chatanooga. Ultimately, he ended up playing JC football, I believe it was in IOWA. If anyone else finds any other information, please add to the post.
  12. I just noticed that the Zips have another DL commitment. That brings to 5 the number of DL in this class which is fantastic. Coach Arth has addressed a major need that the Zips have had for years, which is the DL. With last year signees, if the commitments from this class sign, they have solidified this position for the next few years. The commitments have size, weight, and speed. As I stated in other posts, I hope that they have talent. In looking at Porter's film, it does not appear that he played against major competition. However, he does show good speed and agility. I am so looking forward to future teams where the DL dominates.
  13. I understand that money is a difference between the MAC and Big 10. There should not be a difference between the Big 10 and the other Power 5 conferences that are currently planning on playing this fall.
  14. I am curious about the criteria that has been used by the conferences to determine if they will play football this fall or not. I find it hard to believe that it is reported that some conferences are nearly unanimous in voting to shut down the season, where some conferences are steadfast in playing. I would think that all conferences would have access to the same medical information. Then, how are such different decisions made in determining if football is played this fall?
  15. There is another thread with the same topic. Should the moderators consolidate the replies into one thread?
  16. I wish my similar prediction was wrong. I am not happy that I was correct.
  17. There are times in life that you wish you were wrong. This is one of those times. I was watching the commissioner on TV explaining the situation, and it is very disappointing for the fans and alumni. However, for the good of the players and fans that attend the games, I think this is the best decision (unfortunately). See prior posts of mine, I am expecting the rest of college and high school football to follow suit. Let's all pray that this virus ends soon. Go Zips.
  18. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/pac-12-football-players-threaten-to-opt-out-over-coronavirus-other-concerns/ar-BB17u501?ocid=msedgdhp If large numbers of players opt out of the PAC-12, this may lead to a ripple effect across football. Who knows where this may end.
  19. As much as I hate to say it, my guess is zero. I do not see how Fall sports for college or high school will play. I think that not only is there a negative health impact, but there will not be much if any income for leagues like the MAC. These leagues will lose money big time if they try to play along with the potential spread of the disease. The only chances are the leagues whose TV contracts can subsidize the sport such as the SEC and Big 10. Also, I think the outcome of MLB will be a leading indicator if sports will continue. If I remember, the Marlins have about 17 players and coaches out due to the virus resulting in multiple delays or cancellations of games. IN addition, other teams have shut down games. How will these cancellations affect the standings? Will they be replayed and how will this happen? When you look at baseball, football, and basketball, I think that baseball has the best chance of playing due to the lack of contact and the ability to distance. So, if baseball gets shutdown, I do not see any way that football or basketball will be able to be played due to the contact and the potential to spread the disease to a large group of people in a short period of time. If there is not a sharp decline in the next week or 10 days, I see the sports cancelling out the fall season. What a strange world we live in and how everything has changed in the last year. God Bless.
  20. Hudl has him at 6'2" and 180 lb. The 6' 160 must be from his sophomore season. So, he has grown, put on weight, and is a very good size. I am not sure if the running list should be updated to reflect. A 160 lb D1 player does not put fear into the hearts of the opposition.
  21. HIs film and stats both look very good. I know the chosen clips are his best plays, but he looks like he has breakaway speed. Now, if the Zips can get another OL, two LB's, and possibly a RB, this class should be set.
  22. If the key to getting this virus under control is wearing a mask, then I believe that we will not get significantly better. We may continue to see an increase in cases. I worked from home this week, and only went out Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. On average, 60% of the people I saw were not wearing masks. Based on what I saw, I expect the cases to continue to increase over the next couple of weeks and then have the season cancelled in early August. It pains me to say that, but I see no way that the cases will reduce based on people's actions.
  23. I did some follow up research and this exactly what I found. The 5 year clock starts ticking when you enroll. This tells me that Akron is sold on Kato. 7 hours ago, 94zipgrad said: 94 you are correct. But, I ain't so sure the young man gets gray shirted. Like I previously stated.. We without a lot of QBs. We need the depth. -------------- Following up with 94zipgrad, the decision not to greyshirt would have to be done before classes begin. If that decision is made, then Jankowski missed the summer workouts. The bottom line is, he will join the squad no earlier than January. Go Zips.
