UA vs. Miami

ok, im sick and tired of all of this dwelling on the ub game. Every team has those type of games, and hey case and point we haven't beat NIU the last two years. Hell you go on UBfan and they think they just won the MAC 3 games in. Talking about how great they are and how Pierce had 31 and Smiley couldn't be stopped. GOOD JOB, BUT IT'S JUST ONE GAME AND HEY HELLO BUFFALO BEAT US HERE LAST YEAR AND WE ALL SAW HOW IT ENDED FOR BOTH OF US!!!! Congrats to them but nows the time to move on and get focused on Miami. We can not even one time, one time think about Can't on Saturday. I hate them, you hate them, the ROWDIES hate Can't, all akron fans hate Can't, but this Miami game is way to big to let Saturday not keep us focused. We all know the saying, you find out how good a team is once they face some adversity and well we have. Sunday was Sunday, and we all know what happened, BUT NOWS THE TIME TO RESPOND. Lets forget about the past and focus on how we WILL beat Miami. MUCK FIAMI AND GO ZIPS!!!

+1 Can we please hit some free throws!
all i can say is that it took U at canada to play their best game of the year and probably one of our worst games for them to beat us by only 13. Regaurdless the score we had it down to 2 posessions a few times in the late second half. IM sure KD and the boys will be ready for them when the make the trip to THE UofA

Plus, I doubt Pierce will go for 31 again and Smiley is that hot again. Let's beat Miami and continue to prove we are one of the best, if not the best, in the MAC.

Zeke actually had 5 clean blocks. The refs called fouls on 2 of them because MAC refs aren't used to making calls on someone with Zeke's abilities. His blocking arm was stretched too flat and too far out for any chance of body contact, his palm was absolutely flat, and the other player shot right into it. You can only call a foul on that if you assume Zeke is like other MAC players who can't make clean blocks like that.Having said that, I want to give credit to the refs for not going whistle crazy on light touches. It was a good, clean game, and a joy to watch for both the performance of the Zips and the generally fair and restrained reffing.

Zips need to figure out how to put together a beatdown like that away from the friendly confines of the JAR. Preferably like, this weekend.
Our comrades from up North did not do so well. Unless an 89-54 kersplat @ Can't is a success. I think they just allowed the kerflushes to get even more overconfident than usual. They'll be even higher than normal tonite.

If one of you fine Zips fans can keep a poor law student who is stuck in class until 9:30 tonight updated on how the game is going it would be much appreciated. Don't think my prof is going to be too happy if I try to pull up the 1350 internet feed.
I feel your evening law student pain. It was tough sitting through class knowing that Akron and Miami were battling it out just a few hundred feet away. Needless to say, I covertly had my ESPN GameCast up and running throughout the evening :ninja: .

I guess this last week shows us that Akron, Can't and Buffalo are all still in who-knows-what's-gonna-happen mode.

I've never heard Dambrot so giddy after a game.Great beatdown, Zips.
That game might have been the definition of a beatdown. Great win.Nice to see Chris & Jimmy battling for the boards. How good are the Zips if these two get competitive with each other and play out their senior year like this?I'm pretty sure I could see Zeke getting more comfortable and more aggressive by the minute tonight. It's as if he feels better (no wraps or braces on the knees) and came to the realization that he can play in this league. Right now. Good game from Zeke.I never thought this before tonight, but I like Fletcher's game. He's tough. Had little help inside, and no way he can be effective in a game like this playing 30+ minutes. But he had an ok game for them. Maybe he's going a little Conyers for Miami .. I don't recall him being a significant factor before. B) B) B) Big win!Go Zips!
