MDZip
Nice but too bad he didn't mention the #1 rated Akron Zips. The video sort of makes us look like we couldn't compete against OSU.
akzipper
People wonder why I hate the Suckeyes so much. I love the whole "you don't like them because they're good" response from those fans. This video just adds to the hatred. - You have soccer players blast the ball right at an opposing players face, after play has stopped. Your coach supports this? - a starting quarterback who shows up to a ROSE BOWL dinner with his thugs wearing freaking jeans? - Trying to sue OHIO university, for using the word OHIO and anything with an O on it. - You steal license plates from any cars from Michigan. - you have fans that claim to be lifelong fans just because they went to their local walmart and buy a knock off red jersey. - I see a million OSwho shirts on campus every day, when you are clearly a student at UA why not just wear a Can't shirt? anything else i missed? I love when I get that response too. The bandwagon fans are always my biggest issue. But that's ok. Those that didn't go to school there, or didn't go to college at all, but act as if they are "Buckeyes" explains a lot of what we witness. I do admit that the players/fans of OSU probably take more of a beating than those of "lower tier" universities. But, you would think that some of these folks would also take that as a responsibility to hold themselves to a higher standard as well. I say, if you want to self-proclaim yourself as the top dog of college athletics, with all of that "THE Ohio State University" crap, then you need to also accept that all of the mishaps are going to be equally magnified. And if my knowledge of history is correct, Ohio U. was around long before Ohio State.
Let'sGoZips94
My favorite OSUcks fan response is, "You have to like all ohio teams. They represent Ohio." I just don't answer. I just look at them like "how many years were you in kindergarden?" I myself am a diehard Zips fan, then a Michigan fan. My mom is from Michigan, but I like them more because I want to piss people off. It works. Haha. OSUcks fans just tick me off. Oh well. Gotta love our Zippers! GO ZIPS! Good man. 99% of OSU fans are bandwaggon jumping lemmings. If they say, "I'm not a lemming, I like them because I live in Ohio," simply ask them, "Oh, really? Well just how many Ohio University shirts do you own?" Morons. Gotta be a real fan to be a Zips' fan, baby. Being a Zips' fan ain't for wimps. Can anyone translate what is being said? http://depor.pe/noticia/650786/abusivo-est...zo-cabeza-rival Title: Abusive: This player has got a 'shot' in the head of a rival This cowardly event took place at a meeting between two U.S. universities. Other than that it just quotes OSU coach on his dumb quote and tells what is in the video.
Captain Kangaroo
During the radio broadcast, Steve French made sure to highlight that play was clearly accidental. Did he simply have a bad angle? Or was he trying to placate the Ohio State fans that might be listening? I wonder if a Penn State player had done the same thing...would he have had the same response? Just a conspiracy theory...
Kangaroo Craig
I moved out west three years ago. This blog just reminds me about how much I dislike Ohio State, their fans, and the media that supports them. I do miss allot about Northeast Ohio. Especially the Zips and Browns. One thing I do not miss is the constant talk about the Buckeyes. You can't turn on the radio or TV anywhere in the Cleveland-Akron area without being subjected to the OSU "homer" bias. Best of luck to my Zips bretheren located in the Cleveland media market. You still have to listen to this crap until mid January. Go Zips! And the week leading up Caleb was very high on him. Wonder what CP will say the week before we play them next time... those comments below look interesting too. There were 8 or 9 when I looked. bUAkronG
So apparently my video is continuing to gain popularity. I checked my personal message inbox on my YouTube account today and I received the following two PMs: "My name is Rich Goldberg and I am a Producer at Sports Newsatellite, we supply NBC Newschannel with all their sports material for all of the NBC TV affillates throughout the country. I would like to use your video of the red card during the Akron/OSU soccer game on the NBC Newschannel feed. Please tell me what courtesy I should use and any other game info that might be useful, who when where etc" and "Hello, ESPN was wondering if we can use the below video today? Does the video belong to you? What would you like for an on air credit? Thanks, Carrie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aDe05v2sOg...player_embedded Carrie Henderson ESPN Assignment Editor" I messaged them both back and explained that the footage itself was not my personal footage and that I had just done the editing for YouTube, but I mentioned in both messages my name and the site which I represent, which is of course ZNO, the unofficial home for Akron Zips sports discussion. So keep your eyes peeled and post up anywhere else you might see the vid. I had no idea I'd be getting so much love for just doing ZNO a favor! =]

Show the world who OSU fans really are.
MDZip
The incident is being talked about abroad. Can anyone translate what is being said? http://depor.pe/noticia/650786/abusivo-est...zo-cabeza-rival Here is the Internet Spanish to English translation. Kind of funny. The meeting between the American University Ohio State University and Akron University was the scene of an unfortunate event for the "fair play" in football. In that game, Konrad Warzycha of Ohio, was an opponent lying on the ground, and in a moment of madness, of which insurance will remember the rest of the year, he put a shoe directly to the head. Akron players reacted and went to "adjust" to Konrad. He was expelled. The most interesting were the words of coach of Ohio, who said that action should be penalized with a yellow but not red. Buckzip
Wow dude no need to get all defensive. I am just really enjoying this thread. It's entertainment to me. That's what I thought the internet was for. You make all Zips fans look bad with your personal attacks. Seeing that I am a Zip grad and fan, that is pretty offensive to me when other Akron fans act like that.

I hope that you understand that your dual allegiances puts you in a precarious position regarding many zips fans here. It may be wise in situations such as these not to say anything, including posting emoticons. Unless "poking the fire" is something you like to do, then by all means keep on poking. I just think a lot of ill will would be avoided that way.
