Let'sGoZips94
OU by more than 17 points. I will almost be disappointed if they win. Let's lose out and say that Can't got the wagon wheel back from us when we were 0-12. There's honestly no point in winning. The more we lose, the faster RI's seat heats up. Captain Kangaroo
45 - 10 OU K.e.n.t. was the opportunity to turn the season around. We can't compete with K.e.n.t., let alone the upper-echelon MAC programs. Just being realistic. I hope we win.

The more you win, the more you win. Bill Cowher always says that a team is most dangerous when they have confidence and momentum. We don't have either. You can change coaches every year forever. Unless the culture of losing changes, nothing is going to change. Everyone in NE Ohio waits for a savior to come along and save everything. There are 85 saviors on that team with the ability to change the direction of the program. They ALL need to start to play better and win some games. With that said, we still need a change in coaching. My problems with iCoach are philosophical. I don't think we can win with a pro style offense and I've outlined the reasons many times on this board. I don't think he is a bad coach or a jerk or a bad person or a stupid guy either. He's probably a good guy who knows a lot about pro style offenses and under the right conditions, his philosophy would probably work. It isn't going to work here though. If your sole purpose is for the Zips to become a winning team, then you should be open to every possible way to achieve that, including the possibility that iCoach could turn the program around if given adequate time to prove himself. But since you say you're not open to that possibility, your sole purpose does appear to be chasing away iCoach by any means, including hoping the Zips continue to lose to speed up that process. By your own words, you appear to be cheering for the Zips to continue losing to prove that you're right about iCoach, and that you would be disappointed at being proven wrong if iCoach stays on and turns the Zips into a winning team. Please correct me if I misinterpreted anything you said, and if you actually could be happy with iCoach staying on if he turned the Zips into a winner. Zipsrifle
The last time we sucked this bad, it was OU we beat. Unfortunately at that time, they were on par with us. I want us to win every game from here on out, but from what I've seen so far, we don't have it. I haven't seen any of the drastic improvement I had hoped as the season progressed. So, OU rolls, we lose by 24. Our football program does have a culture of losing. There has been a substantial push to break that culture over the past few years and here we sit at the bottom. What do we have to do? UGH!!!
GP1
There has been a substantial push to break that culture over the past few years and here we sit at the bottom. I respectfully disagree. Our efforts have been in building facilities assuming they would lead to winning. Nobody ever said, "How fast will this new stadium run the 40 yard dash?" or "Can the field actually catch a ball?" What we haven't invested in is the support staff to recruit and retain at risk kids who are extremely talented. There has been some increase, but not enough. When JD got bit by issues such as this, he retreated to what Faust did and brought in less talented players.

WMU 0 Akron 5 Isn't Men's Soccer playing Buffalo tomorrow? D.I.G. brings up a good point about rooting against Ianello. Regardless of the situation, I could never root against the Zips. But at some point, an iCoached team needs to pick up a W to soothe the diehards, even if just for a week. The longer we have to wait, the more unlikely it will seem to us that a turn-around ochestrated by him will ever occur. Enough specualtion. Go Zips!!! Beat the Kitties!!! GP1
The longer we have to wait, the more unlikely it will seem to us that a turn-around ochestrated by him will ever occur. Exactly! I don't think everyone understands what a catastrophe 0-12 would be for the program the first year of a new coach, or any year for that matter. When you hire a new coach, right or wrong, you expect better than what you had before. If it doesn't happen, then what? What kind of player can you recruit when the team goes 0-12? I'm not going to include all of the questions because STZ outlined them a couple of weeks ago, but the questions outline what a deep hole 0-12 creates. What kind of coach would want to come to an 0-12 team? The Zips badly need to win some games this season. To finish with zero wins would take years to recover from. Keep in mind that some teams have not won games for a couple of years straight. It can happen and we can't let it happen to us. 0-12 makes a program a laughing stock. People forget 3-9, they never forget 0-12. I'm pulling for the Zips to win the remainder of their games. If that means iCoach stays longer, then so be it. Maybe he will prove me wrong about the pro style offense. If he goes 0-12, his reputation will be so damaged he will never recover and like JZ84 said, he will never be able to turn things around.
