akron football
Wow Ianello stays with Moore after looking like a high school QB, when will the experiment be done? It's obvious he's lost, just keep chucking it up and scramble around and oh remember to be a leader in the huddle. Heaven forbid we execute the play and hit the receivers in the hands not saying they'll catch it. Come from a spread juco offense to a pro-style Div 1, yea you'll produce. But I guess it's not about competing and winning because we need a foundation and process. What a waste of a season.

mes102
Nicely had his chance. Let's give Moore the season to see what he can do. In my opinion, he's better than Nicely. I highly doubt Nicely would of done better against OSUcks, Temple, and Cincinnati. Don't forget, Nicely was the quarterback when we lost to Gardner-Webb. Let's see what Moore does against VMI, before we start calling for Moore's head. We can't see what Nicely and Moore does in practice, but the coaches do. Even though I have my dislikes about the coaching staff, they wouldn't start the quarterback that is more terrible than the other one. Each decision they make is an effect on their jobs in the future. They don't try to screw it up on purpose. If people are saying to stop hating Ianello, let's stop hating Moore

Dr Z
This is the week we find out if LR8 has the potential to lead this team or not. It's been obvious the past three weeks that he has been in over his head and was not ready. He deserves the chance to start this week against the same or weaker competition. With that being said he needs to improve his play dramatically. He needs to start taking care of the ball. Score more points for our team. skip-zip
thanks mrs. nicely You're not the first one to make this assumption. I guess you have to wonder. I want to see Moore's production improve a lot this week also. And he should be pressured to start showing us more, and become more efficient. But regardless of what happens, he's still roughly 16 games short of the other experiment that failed. So, if Moore does not start to show his ability during the next several games, I sure hope we don't wait that long to pull the plug. Although, we really only have one more QB that we haven't seen play very much, don't we?

I feel it wouldnt matter IF we had peyton manning at qb,,, if guys cant block, if guys cant catch if defense cant stop the competition, if coaches cant coach and motivate, then it doesnt matter who we have at qb,, All this hype on lone ranger,,he hasnt done anything. I hope you all didnt think he was going to turn this team around. HE gets sacked and smashed up EVERY week. Welcome to Patrick Nicelys world in 2010. We had a decent team in 2009. 2010 with RI was terrible, 2011 with RI is terrible. Just like a major corporation with their CEO, The CEO is the one who takes the blame when things go bad. Head Coaches and QBS are the CEOs.. RI was WEAK and TRIED to put last seasons disaster on PN7. Way to go RI, Try and blame it all on a 20 year old. YOU go get a juco qb,,and your STILL in the same boat. RI and the staff need to look in the mirror,,,most of these kids play their hearts out, but if they arent COACHED UP. Its easy to bash on the QB, but lets look elsewhere in the program for answers. Give the QBS a rest on here

Lee Adams
You can't say that Nicely had a fair shot lats year if you are saying that the rest of the offense is bad and it is Moore's first year in the new system. Thats exactly what happened to Nicely last year. The thing I still wonder about is Nicely's freshman year. He did pretty well under the circumstances and in a different offense. I don't know if Nicely would have performed any better in the first 3 games this year, but it would have been nice to see if he improved after being with Ianello for a year. Well,we'll see Saturday what the rest of the season may hold.
Dr Z
I don't know if Nicely would have performed any better in the first 3 games this year.PN7 has appeared in all three games this year. Here are his stats. 6 completions on 17 attempts for 43 yards. That's a 35% completion for 2.5 yards per catch. No TDs with 1 interception and 3 sacks. BirdZip
Comparisons of Nicely's and Moore's performances this year are silly. I would expect that Moore gets more snaps during practice than Nicely since he's the starter, so he has an advantage there. Nicely doesn't have a chance to get comfortable in a game, or find and exploit a weakness, etc. One or two series and he's done. In the OSU game, Nicely was 1/3 for 1 yd. On Moore's first 3 passes, he was 2/3 for a net of -1 yd. I can't find play-by-play for Temple but Nicely was 4/8. In the Cincy game, Nicely was 1/6 for 7 yds. On Moore's first 6 passes, he was 3/6 for 31 yds, but also an INT that was returned for a TD. Neither QB has shown to be all that good, and both likely suffer from the teammates they're playing with. Neither one has won anything here so why fight in favor of either one. If it's lunch time and my choices are boogers or dog crap, I think I'll wait for dinner. Captain Kangaroo
Why do WR's only drop balls for Nicely? People like Dave and I keep asking the same question. I don;t think we've ever gotten an answer. Because Nicely's hit the wide receivers in the hands, and Moore's either sail over their head, or bounce at their feet? Because Sconiers and Russell were Freshmen last season with Nicely, and they're somewhat-improved Sophomores now. :P

Dave in Green
It's not uncommon for some fans to prefer one QB over another for reasons not necessarily related to performance. And it's very common for fans of losing teams to prefer the QB on the bench to the one on the field.

Cleveland Browns fans have been doing this longer than I've been alive.
