I'm taking the points here. FIU made some noise earlier in the year, but haven't been great the past 2 or 3 weeks. I think it's a chance for them to season their younger players on the road.

Zips continue to make small strides in the ground game. Chisolm keeps them in it into the 4th.

Zips Cover!

There was a baseball game that I remember to try and keep me from doing/saying stupid things. I was the catcher for Jackson and we were playing Perry...a cocky group we hated with a passion. We had a young sophomore on the mound and he was taking a beating from the Perry bench. The batter at the plate was their best player and he CRUSHED a ball just foul down the left field line. Their bench went wild and loudly was calling for the pitcher to tell them "the next pitch was not going out". Well...only 3 balls were ever hit over that fence in my 4 years...including practice when guys would go for it. It was not a fence for baseball but the fence to the football field…a very long ways away. So... I walked over in front of their bench, took my mask off and told them “the next pitch was not going out”. They shut up and returned to their bench. Not a peep was heard on the next pitch.

So... My prediction this week is that the Zips win. The young kids will make fewer mistakes at home and AJ Price will have a big day. Moore has made steady improvement since the Cincy game and has yet to come close to a turnover…I think he is learning how to manage a game at this level and I think he steps up and has a big game. I won't predict the score...but I will go out on a limb and say the Zips will win.

...back to the Perry game. Unfortunately....the next pitch WAS hit out over that fence. It was one of the 3 that was hit over it. The good thing was the Perry bench no longer heckled our young pitcher...that was saved for me. I hope I don't have to relive that moment on Saturday.

Many of the Panther players have decided against making the trip to Akron. They have seen and heard the fear that resides in this man they call Crystal Ball. It is hopeless to challenge the Zips. Their defense is impenetrable. Their offense, prolific. An exhibition shall take place but the outcome is assured. 35-7 Zips will reign victorious over the vanquished foe. Long live Ianello.

Doug, I can't believe that Perry Head coach Frank Gamble didn't personally whip your @#$ after that stunt. :nutkick::rofl:

He was probably coaching 3rd base....that was how it was done back then. My guess is that he was to busy laughing his arse off. I am sure my coach (Joe Herman...one of my favorite people of all time) was chucling under his breath too.
