Akron Zips @ Valpo Crusaders

The wife and I are leaving Akron for the short 5 hour jaunty to the Valparaiso Courtyard Inn, and I thought I'd start a thread and see what pops up.

The line opened at PK, but has since moved to Akron -2. Thoughts?

We can probably use this for Duquesne as well, thanks to the short turnaround. GO ZIPS!

Well... for predictions sake, I see Zips winning by 5 and dominating the game. This team is too talented this year and as they grow together, they will only get better.

Valpo is a guard-oriented team with no real inside presence. They like to get opposing bigs into foul trouble with quick play.

Their fans seem to think that we are a slow team because we focus on the frontcourt, and they think their guards will be able to run circles around Abreu. They're in for a shock.

+1. Nobody runs circles around AA. He's the quickest Zips I've seen since Jimmal Ball.

However, if Valpo's a guard-oriented team (as are many college teams) we absolutely must guard the 3-point arc tonight!

+1000. Totally agree. Valpo has 3 point shooters at basically every position...should be interesting to see tonight...

When your leading rebounder is also a 3 pt threat (from down under, no less), there's no doubt you guys are right about a key to this game. Guard the arc!

You have to remember it's still early in the season...They can still light it up from 3...Since they haven't yet, that makes it even more scary for tonight...

By this logic, Buffalo's football team is in TROUBLE tomorrow...

I'll grant that performance in the past three games may not be indicative of their future performance, but I just like my scenario better. :D

Their fans are in for a shock if they are expecting a slow it down grind it out kind of game. Clearly they did not see the MSU game.

Along with guarding the 3 point line the Zips need to crash the glass hard tonight. Teams that take and miss a lot of 3's can have a tendency to get a lot of cheap points off of second shot opportunities from long rebounds. Zeke may need to stay at home and play for the rebound a little more tonight as opposed to going for the block all the time.

Their tallest player is only 6'8" (if you ignore the three guys who are 7'1", 6'10" and 6'9")

The 6'9 an 6'10 guys haven't played a minute fr Valpo. And the 7'1 guy averages 8 minutes a game with 1.3 PPG 2.7 RPG and 0 blocks

From your mouth to God's iPad. I have a bad feeling both are in for a breakout game.

Is this game on TV? Me and the girlfriend are going downtown and am wondering if we can catch it on the tube--

Go Zips! (As a side note I do think Valpo is one of the coolest sounding names in all of sports)

To my knowledge, the game is only webcast on the Horizon League Network.

Leaving for the game now. GO ZIPS!
