Blue & Gold
If anyone cares, Mount Union is playing for the D-III National Championship tonight at 7:00 on ESPN2. Go Purple Raiders! And, btw, PW's WSU Warriors play for the D-II National Championship tomorrow morning at 11:00. Also on ESPN2 IIRC.
Dr Z
If anyone cares.....D-III National ChampionshipPass. I watched a Div II game one time because I heard Steve McNair was NFL talent. But I want to see talent for my time.
mes102
This is Game 7 of the DIII National Championship....Mount Union and Wisconsin-Whitewater have met in the title game for seven straight years now...each have won 3 national titles in the past 6 years...this will be the Game 7... There is talent in D-III.

I watched a Div II game one time because I heard Steve McNair was NFL talent. But I want to see talent for my time. And you've sat through Zips games for the past two seasons? I guarantee you'll see more guys tomorrow morning who will be in NFL camps than you saw all year playing for our Blue and Gold. Sad but true fact. Winters has two guys this year, the safety and the wide-out, who are projected to either be drafted or high priority free agents. He had a couple guys in NFL camps last year. He put a RB in the NFL two years ago. More talent than we've had come through here recently.

Let'sGoZips94
My friend is the kicker for Mount. His name is Tim Scott. He graduated from Norton in 2010. At Norton he was a 4 sport athlete; cross country, football, soccer, and track. How he landed at Mount, I'll never know. He said it was due to his lack of knowledge on the recruiting process. His longest FG made was a 65 yard attempt. He is actually transferring to Boise State after this semester (so basically now). He is hoping to walk on and kick for them. Lord knows Boise needs a kicker. He could be the answer. Just thought I'd throw out this inside information. Haha. Go Purple Raiders! Dave in Green
It's 13-3 with 5 minutes left, and Mount Union is in a pretty deep hole.
Zipgrad01
I have always hated Tom Luginbill, but I realize more now than ever that he is a moron. It is raining and 40 degrees and this idiot says "Wisconsin Whitewater has the edge in these games because they are used to playing in the cold weather and bad elements." Are you serious? Does this moron think Mount Union is in south florida??? How does ESPN let somebody this stupid on television?
Dave in Green
Now 13-10 with 3 minutes left.
Dave in Green
Mount Union fails on 4th and 10, and will lose 13-10. Really ugly conditions. I don't recall seeing so much standing water on a synthetic turf field.
mes102
worst offensive output I've seen from a Purple Raider team in years...growing up 10-15 minutes from UMU gave me opportunities to see them a lot in years' past...

This is why there should never be a large playoff in D-1A. It's the same teams in the playoffs every year and the same teams tend to go deep in the playoffs every year because they have a recruiting advantage over the other teams in their conferences. There are ways to smooth out the differences, but the folks at the ncaa aren't smart enough to figure it out. The BCS is working just fine. If they want to expand it, a plus one would work, but we all know how everyone in the ncaa likes to "grow" things and it would be a 16 team playoff within 10 years. No I skipped many games this year because I thought I was watching a Div III championship the times that I was there. Hopefully somebody can fix this. I just can't watch crummy football on Saturday's anymore.
GP1
Looked to me like only slightly more people go to the DIII Championship Game as go to The Big Dialer for a Zips game.
Hilltopper
Larry Kehres has lost his edge. His son is now the defacto HC and it shows. Ugly performance by UMU.
GP1
Larry Kehres has lost his edge. His son is now the defacto HC and it shows. Ugly performance by UMU. A starting QB leaving a brown stain in his pants the first half didn't help. Mount doesn't seem to have the talent level they have had in the past. I'd even go as far as to say they don't like playing in close games. Maybe that isn't all correct....They may not be used to playing in close games and struggle recently in one against an equal team.
