He isn't coming here. Saw where he is choosing between penn state, Hawaii, Alabama state and 2 others. We aren't in the mix.

Really? I seen this:

nittanylines (@nittanylines) - ATH Carnell Boyd from Georgia set to make a decision right now. #PSU #Hawaii #Akron #itscometothis

Since we havent heard anything, I'd guess he didnt choose here, but this shows that we were apparently still in contention.

He would be a great addition, I'm still very happy with what coach B has done in such a short recruiting season! Imagine what he's going to do with a full year, Go Zips!

I'll take a guess that this is targeted toward my post.

You might as well delete my ID because I won't be back.

It was targeted at two successive posts. Yours was one.

You have been a solid contributor here for many years. I'd be disappointed if you walked away.

But if you can't see why the post was deleted, and feel your timing of your post was really good, then it may be best that you call it a ZN.o career.

It is your call. I won't delete any ID.

I'm looking forward to seeing the rankings with the MAC to see where the "experts" think we stack up. Anyone have sources they trust for rankings?

Scout has us rated 116th out of 124 (Four new FBS teams coming in this year, remember) and 13th out of 14 in the MAC.

Rivals doesn't even list us having half our recruits, so I can't take their rankings seriously.

I wouldn't take any of the rankings seriously. How have Temple's recruiting classes been ranked? And how many MAC Championships have they won? I trust Coach Bowden's abilities as both a recruiter and a coach. Regardless of the talent, it will be coached up.

I think our recruiting class has a lot of potential. Lots of "diamond in the rough" players. Some who only played a year or two of football, other players from small schools who get overlooked because they're not surrounded by future BCS talent.

Given the time frame the staff had to work with and the reputation the program had acquired under the previous coach, this class is pretty solid. Anybody taking over here has to take a few risks when recruiting.

I can't wait to see what they put together with a full year to work with.

Looks like a good class regardless of the amount of time the staff had to recruit. Well done.

Some real good size in these kids. Two kids stick out in particular.

Arlington McClinton...6'6" is a huge DE at any level. If he can play, this is the type of body that lands in the NFL. He needs some weight, but I'd rather him come in too thin than too fat.

Andrew Pratt...6'5" WR. There are NFL QBs out there who would give their right "you know what" for a player this size because of the impact they can have in the red zone reaching balls where smaller guys can't. If he can catch, this is a go to guy when points are needed.

Again, well done by the staff.

I've watched Pratt compete since he was in the 7th grade, mainly basketball because he didn't play football until his Jr year. At first I thought he might make it as a D-1 basketball player. That changed the minute I saw him play his first high school football game. It was looking like he was really a D-1 football player. He is very athletic and is not afraid to catch the ball over the middle and take some contact. He caught everything thrown to him and even though he got a lot of double coverage, he still managed to catch 39 passes for 800 yards and 8 touchdowns. I think the Zips got a good one.

Did Ianello ever do something like this? This was very good. As an example of finding overlooked players perhaps, they showed Dylan Evans who was brought in as a linebacker, but primarily was used as a running back this year. He wasn't likely to get a D-1 scholarship as a RB, but the coaches dug into his background and found excellent LB skills during his sophomore and junior years. Coach Bowden also appears to have met his goal of bringing in a lot of speed.

The press conference was great, though I thought more media folks would show up. I guess they were all in the JAR.

One thing I noticed is that the defensive linemen we signed are athletes. Big, tall, and play multiple sports.

Something that has been a complaint is how the team didn't look like an FBS team. That the other teams were just bigger and taller. Coach Bowden brought in big and tall linemen on both sides of the ball.
