Akron1
Two years too late. We all needed this news two years ago. Could have helped ease the pain.
akzipper
Thats right! There will be beer for the general public to purchase during Football games this Fall!! Source? I have a tough time believing anything this guy posts. Remember he started a thread saying we officially hired Paul Winters as HC, and another saying we officially hired Northern Iowa's HC. MDZip
If it happens, great. But for now, I am hijacking this thread so that it refers to the celebration of the Zips mens basketball championship!

Captain Kangaroo
If you need a beer in InfoCision, then you are a tailgating wuss. Or just don't know how to put cans of beer in your pocket. I predicted it 3 years ago. Hope it is true, so I can chalk up yet another stupid thing UA did that I told them they'd reverse.
Lee Adams
In one way its OK. In another its obvious its being done to try to put more butts in the seats. Its a shame. Nothing against beer mind you. I bought it out at the Bowl and quaff a few before every game. I wonder if the team had been winning and the crowds were bigger if this would have happened? GP1
In general, I'm against this move. How against it?...Not much. I understand there are probably good financial reasons to do it, but is it worth it? I don't know. I think Lee Adams is correct. I'll call it something different though. It is another act of desperation. The problem with beer at a game is it cause people to lose control of themselves, both mentally and physically. The loss of control is why we don't allow people to drink and drive. In the long run, it doesn't do much to create a positive atmosphere around college football. K92
"People want to know if Dick Nixon's a tailgating wuss. Well, I'm not a tailgating wuss and neither is Keener'92."
Captain Kangaroo
Bowden may have lost Wagner, which is a blow to the Zips defense for 2012. But he kept Keener in the fold, which is the key to quality tailgating in 2012. Thank you Coach Bowden!

I believe he was an all-MAC tailgater back in ’10.
Captain Kangaroo
+1 Let’s not forget Bowden’s wise move in getting Zips Win! to walk on for one more year. I believe he was an all-MAC tailgater back in ’10. Yeah, that propane injury set him back. I think the only good move Ianello made his entire tenure was deciding to redshirt ZipsWin! in 2011. I don't want to sound like a stalker, but I have seen ZipsWin! at BW-3's several times over the winter, usually before basketball games, and he appears to be rehabbing hard. I predict not only will he tailgate in 2012...I say he earns his scholarship back!!

I realize there’s usually an anti-Zip bias in these all-conference teams, but wouldn’t it be amazing if he managed to be name all-MAC a second time?! K92
Zips Win! is putting in the necessary reps to get that all-MAC selection. I have seen his hard work. As a matter of fact, I spotted for him just last week.

bUAkronG
I didn't want to say anything early, but I am considering coming in as a walk-on to the tailgating team this fall.

My advice - Resist temptation and start with 12oz curls. Don't jump straight into the 23 ouncers.

I've been training with 23oz curls this offseason. You can see part of my training regiment in the beer thread.
LZIp
I dont see it as an act of desperation, I see it as a step in the right direction. Most other big time programs already do this..if we want to become big time, whats wrong with this move? Not surprised most of the pessimists on here see it as a desperate move, though. Screw those who poo poo the importance of post season All MAC Tailgating Teams. I'll put our ALL MAC 1st Teamers' up against any of those BCS Tailgating punks with their $500,000 Winnebegos and store-bought corn hole boards! Our drinking success is based upon a "winning process" of volume, quality, variety and economic prices. Those $500,000 Winnebegos you see are part of a "building process" those fans use to create the illusion of greatness. Try drinking a Winnebego. RowdyZip
BUMP. So its true...Beer in 2012 at Infocision. It's all over Cleveland media so I'm not providing a link. The Board of Trustees altered to alcohol policy today to allow sales to the general public during football games. Great move, UA.
