UT will flex their muscles against a non SEC team and then go right back to sucking in the SEC. Look for them to cover whatever line is set.

Mel Kiper has UT WR Justin Hunter up to #5 overall on his board. He's the #1 wideout according to the self-professed draft guru.

With C Patterson at the other WR and Tyler Bray at QB, I think they'll have a hard time setting the over/under for this one!

The blowout win sure has skewed a few NCAA FBS stats in favor of the Zips!

#26 Total Offense

#39 Total Defense

#5 Passing Offense

#14 Passing Defense

The Zips deserve their stats the way any BS scheduling BCS team "deserves" theirs.

Not to mention that DW is #4 in Passing Yards, and tied for #2 in Passing TD in the country. (1004 with 10 TD).

Also of note, when I first read this Dalton Williams was questionable, they now list him as probable.

Good to hear. I am afraid, though that Tenn will be fired up to take out their Florida loss on the next team up... hoping the O-Line and/or DW's ribs hold up!

I watched the Tennessee-UF game last week. Their secondary is weak. I think the Offense will be able to move the ball on them. It is going to be very tough stopping their passing game. I feel Commack will be able to contain Hunter, but #20 on their other WR seems to be a huge mismatch.

Could be a shootout.

Volunteers are 35 point favorites.

That seems a bit excessive to me but we'll see what happens when the Zips visit an SEC team under the lights. I'd hope they can keep it at least competitive for a half or so.

Vol fans are not in a particularly good mood right now (understandable). Some are at least a wee bit afraid of Coach Bowden.

They're between "up" games. Could be a good time to catch them with their heads down. Emotional loss to hated Florida, only a week to go before hated Georgia, there is something that exists there, plus an awarenes of what ULM is doing to the SEC (they should be 2-0 against the SEC right now). Those are major factors on a person's psyche.

I still see best case scenario 42-21. I just don't see us having enough defensive depth against the Vols.

That's why they play the games

I said back in January (not sure if I posted it here or not...) - but as soon as I saw that Tennessee was on the schedule, I told everyone I knew that we would beat the Vols. Call me crazy, call me overly optimistic... or call me psychic -- but UT is the only SEC team that Coach Bowden never beat.. plus, I'll take Bobby Bowden's son over Vince Dooley's son any day...

Let's Go Zips!! Beat the Vols!!!!

Amazing the different variety of topics that come up on these message boards. Here's one on Tennessee's board:

"Women of Akron"

(This is one area it seems they feel we beat them in  )

For some reason once south of the Ohio river women are compelled to apply makeup in extraordinary amounts and thickness.

Vols - Moving On

At the very bottom:

(On looking forward to Akron)

“Just basically playing a whole game, playing for the whole sixty minutes. Not taking them lightly. They have some good DBs and some good transfers coming in so just focusing on that game.”

Still no lines on the game.

It looks like Porter remains a big supporter of all UA athletics. Check out post #12 on the VolNation's pick the score thread!

I laughed for quite a while on that one. Could also be that the Zipmeister is posting there under an assumed name. :)

Seems as though some of their fans really dislike their coach...so much, apparently they would want UT to lose to Akron as for the nail in the coffin to send him packin'. I am 100% for helping with the cause if it means Akron gets a 'W' in knoxville!!

Go ZIPS!!!

Now I don’t think the 2012 Vols are in even close to the same boat as the 2008 Orange, but when I was in Syracuse for that 42-28 Zip victory, the SU fans were sounding EXACTLY like some of these UT fans. They disliked Greg Robinson to no end.

I REALLY wish I was headed to Knoxville :mad_flame:
