Zipmeister
No, that is NOT what I said. Your assessment is unreasonable, inaccurate and nonsensical. If coaches behaved as you are portraying them they would soon be out of a career. Coaches love to teach and develop their players. They almost always do their best to help their charges. The player is a reflection of the coach's choice. After all, the coach offered the player a scholarship. Please remember that scholarship offers are made, in most cases, to seventeen year old boys not yet in their senior year of high school. The player has to do his part and get better as a student, person and player. Shall we saddle coaches with kids who fail to measure up? Instead of criticizing suggest an alternative that makes sense. You make coaches sound like self-serving ogres that do no not care a wit about their players. How wrong you are. Obviously not all coaches are self-serving ogres that care not a wit about their players or they would routinely yank scholarships from end-of-the-bench players who were injured assisting a person or animal in danger. tpsjugglerdude
Well, in the Malone blowout everyone (including Luke Avsec, Darius Hoiston, and Jonas Stalyga) all played except Josh Egner. Seems we found our answer.

Z.I.P.
Well, in the Malone blowout everyone (including Luke Avsec, Darius Hoiston, and Jonas Stalyga) all played except Josh Egner. Seems we found our answer. I'll find out whether Michael Green (and Chaminade's coach) are interested in recruiting a former Jackson Polar Bear, and turning the Silverswords into a receptacle for washed out MAC players. CUH (Chaminade U of Honolulu) plays the New Zealand National team Tue. night. Mike will be playing the 4-spot for the Swords, as they're very low on both size and bodies. Good thing he can play right away.
zipinnc
Yes, you probably did. Egner didn't make the trip to Coastal Carolina and I have not seen him on the bench in Puerto Rico. What is going on?
GoZips
Egner didn't make the trip to Coastal Carolina and I have not seen him on the bench in Puerto Rico. What is going on? It seems that in all likelihood that Josh Egner is transferring at the end of the semester. Rumor has it that he is going to Mount Union. I like Z.I.P.s idea of out sourcing former Zips to Chaminade. Valpo Zip
Rumor has it that he is going to Mount Union. If that's true, he gave a up a full ride scholarship to go play at a DIII school with a huge tuition. I can't imagine that no DII school wanted him... Good luck to Josh. I can't imagine that no DII school wanted him... Good luck to Josh. In D-III he's able to earn an academic scholarship. There's no limit on how much D-III schools can hand out. I think he'll be just fine.

Blue & Gold
He'll do great at that level and have a lot more fun. Good luck, Josh! Go Purple Raiders!
Dave in Green
Should he end up transferring to Mount Union, Josh would be reunited with his former Jackson HS state championship winning coach, Mike Fuline. He'd also be the tallest player on the team, and would give the Purple Raiders a big boost.
Valpo Zip
He could be the tallest and most athletic player in the OAC, if not all D3 bball!
RootforRoo44
I believe that KD and his staff go out of their way to help all Zips players find the best situation for their particular circumstances. If a Zips scholarship player finds himself at the end of the bench due to being outperformed by other scholarship players, and if that player really wants to play basketball somewhere, I'm confident that he will get a lot of help to find the best possible situation for his skill level. Dakotah Euton had a great season at Asbury University last year, earning a spot on the 2011-12 KIAC Men’s Basketball All-Conference Team, and Michael Green will certainly be enjoying his time in Hawaii (right, Z.I.P.? ) playing for giant killer Chaminade. So how about Michael Green's Chaminade taking down Texas tonight?! Chaminade sure knows how to upset the big boys. Unbelievable. However Green only played six min and had a stat line of 1pt/1reb. Dave in Green
What a way for Chaminade to celebrate the 30th anniversary of being dubbed "Giant Killers" after beating #1 Virginia back in 1982 in what is generally considered to be the biggest college basketball upset of all time. zippy5
Chaminade sure knows how to upset the big boys. Unbelievable. I guess, they're 7-76 in the Invitational since that UVA win in 84.

Z.I.P.
Thanks to GoZips for the update. I'm afraid this will dampen coach Bovaird's day on Maui, as he will be cc'd. I have yet to make it to Maui for this event. At least they have been able to put in AC to make it a more breathable three days at Lahaina Civic. I did however view the Silverswords knock off an ACC team on their home gym court in the early 90s. I believe it was Maryland, however I also recall Vinny Del Negro being on the floor, and he played for NC State. Did Md have a tall Italian guard? -- and don't say Marc Iavarroni! That was 15 yrs earlier.

I LOVED the miracle on ice, and it has great importance to me personally. But, that hockey team still consisted of top-notch college hockey players. Those kids from Chaminade were nobodys. But, that hockey team still consisted of top-notch college hockey players. Those kids from Chaminade were nobodys. i don't know about this. Chaminade was at least playing college players. The 1980 olympic team was playing a team of professional ALL-STARS. They just beat the NHL All-Stars 6-0 before the olympics. They won gold in 64, 68, 72, 76, 84, 88...9 straight world championships from 63-72. 42 straight wins heading into a game against a group of college kids, who have been playing together for just a few months, compared to 10 years for some of the USSR guys. They even went on a 4 year winning streak after the loss too.

That's pretty rare on here Remember, we accomplished pretty much the same feat in the 1960 Olympics too. But I can guarantee you that an NAIA school will never beat the #1 D-1 basketball team in the country ever again. So, I say if something is impossible to ever be duplicated, that should be the #1 sports miracle ever.
