If I hear one word about Akron being smaller than UCF on ESPN3 then we know the game announcers did not even look at the rosters. We match up pretty good and are actually bigger than them on the offensive line. Their receivers are not giants either so that makes me more comfortable with our secondary. I think we may be in this one late and then anything can happen. Could be a screaming win or a difficult heart breaker. Either way, I say this one is closer than most people think and may depend on one of the old cliches: turnovers, special teams, or penalties.

Looking forward to a good game tonight. The UCF offense will be top 20 in the nation this year with a veteran Oline, two top notch RBs in (Storm Johnson Univ Miami transfer) who is really fast and his back up Cedric Thompson who is a north-south power runner at 230 lbs. at WR, this is the best quality and depth we have ever had (been watching the team since 1987). We have 5 receivers that can all start at every position including our next Brandon Marshall in Breshad Perriman 6-3 225 lbs(son of NFL great Brett Periman). I am looking forward to seeing how our improved D line matches up against you improved Oline and how our young secondary can handle being targeted.

Keep an eye on our KR Speedy Hall, he will be top 10 returner this year. My guess is UCF moves the ball at will but our D will make a few mistakes keeping it within 20 this year. Cheers

Terry Bowden interview with Orlando radio station

The audio is near the bottom of the page.

For all those who said Bowden would instantly depart Akron if he turned the program around; in this interview he almost all but confirms that he wouldn't. He said that Akron is really the last team for the Bowdens and that he would love to coach for another 10-15 years

I didn't get that impression.

I think he's saying he'll coach until he's 70, so if you are in the market to hire a coach in the next couple years, don't worry about his age. He'll be there...wherever "there" might ultimately be...for a decade +.

But Bowden departing is a silly conversation to have when he's got an 8.3% winning percentage. We'll save that one for a couple years from now.
