Zips Win!
Can anyone who purchased Michigan tickets through UA confirm the section UA is in?
msee92
Amen. Our coach isn't going to tell the players that they are going to Michigan just to show up and not get hurt. They will want to try to win the football game, and so will the coaches, and they will play the best guys who are able to be on the field. Of course they will, and they should. Given the relative line strength, sizes, and depths, I do wonder who "the best guys who are able to be on the field" for the Zips will be against Louisiana, and who will be too banged up to go. Dr Z
Best team in the B10, Michigan? Kiper and McShay debate. (must have in subscription to read) PS Columbus State honks, please save us your comments for bucknutz.com. This week is about Michigan vs Akron. The read is intended to familiarize Zips fans with the team they are playing this week. Here is one nugget: The interior of Michigan's offensive line is young and needs to improve -McShay

Should we have not played them in preparation for Louisiana-Lafayette?

MDZip
Can anyone who purchased Michigan tickets through UA confirm the section UA is in? Actually that was answered here already. (thank you ZipGrad01). Section 8 all the way at the top corner of the stadium.

Dr Z
Source: OddsShark #17 Wolverines #92 Zips Handicapping models projects 62-17, UM over UA. Betting Line: Michigan were sitting as 35.5-point favorites earlier in the week at Bovada . The total was to be set a bit later in the week for over under betting purposes. Ham
It should go without saying that everyone on this board would hope for a W. I still hope to see our best at the Info beating the Cagins. As for let down; Michigan will absolutely have a let down. The mere premise of the question sets them up. Think about how often a track athlete sets a personal best at a tune up meet. Our guys on the other hand will be set up for their best effort. I don't think we will be intimidated there, but crowd noise could be a factor.
Captain Kangaroo
I don't think we will be intimidated there, but crowd noise could be a factor. I see Michigan's size, speed and depth causing the Zips problems. Crowd noise is probably not going to be a factor. The Zips OL is so bad right now...Easton may enter the game in the 2nd quarter. Our DL's over-pursue everything. A team like Michigan will take advantage of that big-time. Michigan 65 Akron

Michigan 65 Akron 3 Agree completely. Crowd noise will be the least of our worries. Our defense got torn apart by a FCS school last week. As much as I want to stay positive, this is going to be a very lopsided game.
MDZip
Associated Press story leaves no doubt: Michigan Vows to Avoid Letdown Against Akron For some reason Dave's link led to to a page not found. I think this one will get you there. Clever paragraph in the story: Akron, led for a second season former Auburn coach Terry Bowden, barely beat second-tier James Madison Saturday and has lost 27 straight road games since winning at Eastern Michigan nearly five years ago. The Zips will be in the same county as it was against Eastern Michigan, but they will basically be in another world on the football field against the Wolverines. legendofzippy
What is this guy talking about? Are we a donut? Is that worse than a cupcake? Did Brady Hoke Call Akron A “Glazed Donut” Opponent?
West Side Blue
What is this guy talking about? Are we a donut? Is that worse than a cupcake? Did Brady Hoke Call Akron A “Glazed Donut” Opponent? No disrespect intended. Hoke is on record as saying he prefers noon starts, but recognizes that today's softbatch students have a hard time dragging themselves to the stadium that early. So he promised to buy donuts to be distributed to the students who show up on time for all noon games this year. So noon start = "glazed donut game." Looking forward to a good game, with absolutely no injuries on either side. The one thing that was a real bummer about the Central Michigan game (at least from Michigan's perspective) was that Central's QB and tailback both left the game with what sound like season-ending injuries. johnnyzip84
UM 49 UA 10 Bickley has a couple of nice plays and Stein hits a long one. I finally got a chance to watch the coach’s show last night. TB keeps using the phrase “banged up” to describe his QBs. He must read ZnO The helmets do look better on TV, but from my seats I only thought they added a stripe. Now that I’ve seen it up close and I can connect it with Zip history, the new decal is growing on me. Players of the Game: March/Defense – Hirschman/Offense Up and Coming Players: Mizell/Defense – Pratt/Offense TB insinuated that Mizell is being worked in slowly because he came in to camp late and he hasn’t played football in over a year. He seemed to imply that we will see more and more of him as the season progresses.
legendofzippy
Doughnut vs cupcake. You may have stumbled upon a hotly debated topic. I'll vote donut. Cupcakes are overrated.
Zipmeister
I'll vote donut. Cupcakes are overrated. If you love good donuts and are driving to the Miami game then you want to stop at Bill's Donuts. It's right on your way just south of Dayton and I675. Dr Z
I bought tickets off of stubhub, but there is a UM fan forum claiming there will be tons of tickets available up to game time for cheap. So if the price of the ticket has you scared, it sounds like it shouldn't.
