Read the article in the ABJ on Friday. Dealt mostly with Pohl. He doesn't exactly inspire confidence. He doesn't seem to have a lot of confidence in his own ability even after being around the Bowden program for a couple of years and starting 9 games.

Wonder if Hirschman had been healthy in some previous games if Bowden would have gone to the bullpen?

What happens if Pohl starts struggling again against K.S.U.?

starting a thread with a negative tone from you? I. am. shocked.

Pohl is really struggling today. Has all day in the pocket, yet he's overthrowing everyone.

Scary how much he reminds me of Brandon Weeden. Just ugly QB play.

This is a first. I agree. Pohl is stinking the place up!

Hirschman looked worse during his few snaps

He only took a few snaps in the middle of another drive and only throw it once? a play that resulted in a pass interference.

I think Hirschman deserved a chance to start a drive, just to see what would happen. Honestly it couldn't have been much worse.

Hirschman ended up with a big ice pack on his knee and I don't think would have been available for any more series.

correct. I believe Hirschman re-aggravated his injury on the blown up attempted reverse to Bickley.

It's almost as if the coaches see these guys play every day when they pick the starter.

I don't think he should have played today, even for a few snaps. It's unfortunate that both of our QBs are injured to the point that neither should really be playing at all.

Pohl is delaying getting surgery until the season is over. If Hirschman wasn't also injured, he might have gone through with it already.

In retrospect the ABJ article on Pohl was remiss in not making any mention of his injury and need for surgery, and the affect that may be having on his performance. I'm sure that Pohl is playing his heart out and doesn't want to talk about his injury or try to use it as an excuse. But the bottom line is that injured players cannot be held to the same high performance standard as healthy players.

Cannot say I am surprised considering the source. I've been under the impression he has been pushing for Hirschman most of the season.

Having a bad foot doesn't change the fact that KP16 locks onto one receiver and telegraphs his passes to the secondary. He still needs to improve his reading of the defense and have the confidence to deliver the ball to a receiver when he is open.

Precisely. KP needs to work on his progressions.

At least Bowden finally figured out that at least right now Pohl is not the playmaker he needs at the QB position. MAYBE next season. But, It may never happen with him. As much as I have been down on Chisholm, it appears the coaches have 'heated up' his behind. He is running harder and making a more concerted effort to run north/south than he ever has.

Reminds me a bit of Dennis Kennedy. His first season here he ran sideline to sideline. In his senior year Brookhart finally got him going north/south. Didn't help much, but he was a better runner. They did beat K.S.U,however.

@Hilltopper, wasn't that you sitting next to me when we were surprised to see KP16 appear to be locked in on the right side of the field and then suddenly turn and complete a nice pass to the left? Shows he can do it, but just needs to do it more often. Playing with an injury can affect almost everything you do to some degree. Doesn't mean KP16 would be great if he were playing unhurt, just that he'd likely be a little better. I expect there will be serious competition at QB for the Zips next season, and a healthy KP16 will need to show significant improvement in his overall game.

From what I have noticed, I think the coaches are helping Chisholm with the play-callling. They are giving him the ball more in between the tackles besides those stretch plays that never work. I dont think the stretch plays would work with any of our current RBs
