Peter should arrive at UA fairly well developed as a player since his HS coach has produced more than 900 wins at Greensboro Day and has previously coached a list of players including Shane Battier, Metta World Peace, Elton Brand, Baron Davis, and most recently, 2014 Los Angeles Lakers lottery pick Julius Randle.

With the Salyes commit for 2017 and assuming the 2 NQ's qualify next year and no other departures there will be no other additions to the 2017 class.  However, we know things always change throughout the year.

Isn't this a big surprise?  Did anyone see this coming?  All I've heard from anyone up to this point was how much he could contribute this year.  Was it becoming apparent in workouts that maybe his status in this year's rotation was slipping?

I'm not really close to the program but not a huge surprise team me.  He is basically a PF/C but is only 6'5".  Yes he has a big wingspan but it's tough to be a D1 post player at 6'5".

He seemed to be a very likable kid in his Coach's Show appearances last year. From what I understand, smart too?

 

I guess if he's going NAIA, that pretty much tells you why he left. I wish him a great college career.

I remember getting blasted for saying that he didn't look like a D1 player. So no, I'm not surprised.

I used to think that meant something too, but I don't read too much into it with the number of players today who will do just about anything to get premium playing time right away.  

But, lets hope that such a significant move from D-1 to NAIA really was an indication that he was of no use to us.

Just an FYI -- this is Rochester College in greater Detroit.  Not the Rochester Institute of Technology, the high IQ school in NY.  FWIW -- I was confused myself until I looked it up.

And to confuse things even further, there's also a private school in Rochester NY called University of Rochester, which is not associated at all with RIT.
