If this class was put together early, I'd probably be kinda disappointed. Maybe it's the momentum of most of the class piling up towards the end, but it's got me somewhat satisfied. I was between that and wait and see. Would have liked to see some more help on the line, and maybe another WR.

I would have like to see a bit more size at CB and WR but I think it will be fine.

Like the O-Line guys .............. Size and height !!!

Lots of athletes and it seems like we got guys from the target areas of FLA and GA ............... Hopefully made some inroads in the Ohio area as TB indicated he wanted to focus on.

Got a couple TE/H-backs it appears

All in all ............ I am satisfied

Let's strap on the helmets and get Spring started !!!

The thing that Akron needs to do is find that one kid that is a stand out athlete that has the ability to make things happen. We have plenty of schools in our area that can make that happen, but we just cannot seem to land that type of recruit.

It blows my mind that we cannot find a kid from Glenville, Akron area, Canton area, that wants to stay closer to home and play right away and be a star rather than go to OSU and be another guy on the bench for a few years and maybe play as a junior and senior.\

What I hate seeing is kids commit to Indiana, Minnesota, etc..etc.. over Akron. Hopefully, with a pretty decent class from all account, a team that can rise to the bowl game and MAC Championship type season, we can start taking kids that would go to those type of schools to stay closer to home. But we invested heavily in Florida and the south. It would be interesting to see how a winning season looks next year. (if it happens)

I gave up years ago trying to decide the quality of football recruiting classes for the Zips. Unless we sign a kid who decided to stay home and gave up a scholarship to a BCS level school, the players we sign are all projects IMHO .

Good plan. Don't know how many people on this board have actually seen a significant number of these recruits play in person, but I doubt its a significant number. So its really hard to make an intelligent assessment of how these recruits will perform at even the lowest BCS level. I note that 3 transfers from bigger schools were prominently noted. Recruiting at the MAC level in football is exceedingly difficult. You are recruiting against the high level BCS teams as well as the FCS(1-AA) teams. But at some point the coach has to go 'all in' and play the 'best' people on the team. Hopefully,2015 is that year. No reason it should not be at this point.

This is the best we're going to do till we get on the map with steady bowl appearances. Right now, we really only have the Bowden name to help in recruiting. We have the facilities, but we don't have a winning reputation. I like our lineman in this class, but still hope for another blue shirt and or transfer on the offensive line. Muscle on the lines = winning.

Meaningless??? It just so happens that all the teams at the bottom of the ranking are the worst teams in the country?

NIU is routinely rated around the bottom 20% of recruiting classes, behind nearly every P5 doormat. It's like that every single year. And yet who is one of the winningest teams in the past decade?

If recruiting rankings were correct, teams would never go from bad to good, or fall off the radar, because they adjust ratings based on the offers a recruit gets and that, in turn, is based on how those teams are doing right now.

Recruiting rankings are based on individual talent. Apples and oranges.
