Dr Z Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 Feel free to discuss all mac conference games other than the Zips game in this thread. Please us the proper game thread for Zips discussion. Today's games. Quote
K92 Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 Ball State v. NIU. . . The Huskies could be 2-4 after today?!A upset win by the Sweaters would be a nice gift for the Zips if we are still entertaining any thoughts of winning the East.Central @ Western is the game of the week. Helluva rivalry with post game festivities at Bell's. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 CMU doesn't look so scary today. Quote
MDZip Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 CMU doesn't look so scary today.CMU came back really strong at the end. But if the Zips can play like they did today they can beat them. The tallest order is next week but if the Zips can top BGSU they still absolutely have a shot in terms of schedule. BGSU and Ohio still have each other and BGSU doesn't get Miami but gets WMU, Toledo and Ball St. Ohio misses UMASS and gets NIU, WMU and Ball St. Much tougher schedules than the Zips. I hate the unbalanced schedule and will be happy when UMASS leaves but it might work to the Zips favor this year. Next week is huge. Quote
LoyalZIP Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 3 more points and the upcoming game at BG is a battle for sole possession of the East. UGH!!! Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 It is 2 games into the MAC season. We are fine. 9 of the 13 MAC teams already have a league loss. Quote
Balsy Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Agreed. BG still has to play Ohio, and Ohio still has to prove it can hold on to No. 1. We need to focus on BG and find a way to win. Go Zips! Quote
LZIp Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Just looking ahead a little bit, along with us, BG still has WMU, Ohio, Toledo, and even Ball St (who isnt a complete slouch). I bet OU goes down to WMU this weekend. In addition to them, still have UB, BG, Ball St, and NIU to go. A lot of football left to be played. And knowing the MAC, surely some dust will kicked up. Quote
Balsy Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 Ohio is down 14-0 to WMU in the second. Hopefully WMU can keep it up. Quote
zipsrule Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 It is now WMU 35 and Ohio 7 late in the 3rd quarter. 1 Quote
LZIp Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 It is now WMU 35 and Ohio 7 late in the 3rd quarter. As I said above, not shocked at all. The Broncos are a top 2-3 team in the MAC. Maybe even the best. Quote
LZIp Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 CMU doesn't look so scary today.Currently up 37-7 over Buffalo. Hard to get a good read on these teams so far, but I'm leaning towards this result being an accurate one. Quote
skip-zip Posted October 18, 2015 Report Posted October 18, 2015 Initially, I didn't like seeing the CMU/Buffalo score, because CMU is our next game. But upon further thought, I like that Buffalo appears to be emerging as a very winnable game, despite how badly they beat us last year. Put the BG game behind us quickly. The "Schedule Gods" appear to have given us 4 games against bad teams to close the season, and a clear path to a 7 win bowl season. We can't possibly ask for much more of an opportunity than we're going to get from that November schedule. Quote
LoyalZIP Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 I know these rankings aren't scientific, but the bottom of the MAC is pretty bad if Akron can lose by 49 and move up two spots. Quote
skip-zip Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 Not scientific, but it clearly proves my point that we "should" win our last 4 games, and get the 7 wins we need. But, this team needs to recover from Saturday, utilize the bye week effectively, get some things accomplished against CMU, even if we don't win, and start getting our act together to close out strong. I'll gladly throw away the CMU game to get those last 4 victories. Quote
Dr Z Posted October 21, 2015 Author Report Posted October 21, 2015 All games on ESPN3 this week. Quote
Captain Kangaroo Posted October 21, 2015 Report Posted October 21, 2015 Other than a potentially close Buffalo/OU game, seems like an easy week for the MAC's upper-echelon. Quote
Balsy Posted October 24, 2015 Report Posted October 24, 2015 Buffalo taking Ohio to the woodshed in the first half...BGSU took Can't to the woodshed earlier today. BG should be the representative for the MAC East in the MAC Championship this year. Quote
skip-zip Posted October 25, 2015 Report Posted October 25, 2015 Just when I thought Buffalo was possibly sliding downhill. And CMU going to the wire against Ball State.MAC Football Quote

zipsoutsider Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Don't look now, but Miami is giving Buffalo a run for its money. Quote
