LZIp Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Scott. Amzaing. Weird how much they tried to attack him today. Absolutely no success doing it. Quote
GoZips88 Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Amato and our D are carrying us. 1 down. 3 to go. Go Zips! Quote

dre22era Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Feels good to win Feels hella good to Watch the ZIps on a non stream in HD. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted November 7, 2015 Author Report Posted November 7, 2015 Way too close for comfort, but it's a win, on the road.Anybody want to disagree that 4-5 looks a whole hell of a lot better than 3-6? Quote
LZIp Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Feels good to win Feels hella good to Watch the ZIps on a non stream in HD. And with announcers who don't regurgitate the same crap weekly. Feely and the other guy did pretty good for it being their first time with us. 3 Quote
zipsoutsider Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Phenomenal game by the defense. The secondary has really stepped it up the last 2 weeks and the front 7 continues to play great ball. Specialists on special teams continue to be problematic. Quote
MDZip Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 On replay that was an outstanding interception by Scott. Leapt to knock it down with one hand and then grabbed it on the way down. Quote
LZIp Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 I'm glad to get this win out of the way. Out of our 4 remaining cupcakes, Buffalo and UMASS scared me the most talent-wise. While UMASS is horrible, I think they actually have a little bit of talent but have underachieved this season. Buffalo is just weird. Completely unpredictable, but have shown they are capable of beating solid MAC teams. I think Miami is a gimme. Can't St is pretty bad as well, but I wouldn't count them out as being able to beat us because its a rivalry game (see last year). Quote
LoyalZIP Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Whether it be basketball, soccer, or football, being a Zips fan isn't always easy on the heart. Go Zips! Time to calm down. Quote

UMass gave ND, Toledo, and Temple all problems and I was concerned that this could become a breakthrough game from them. We held Frohnepl(?) to 179 yes. Well done. JB1 was in their backfield all day long. Offense held the ball for over 20 minutes in the second half. Hat's off to Woodson for a nice second half turn around. Some gutsy running from him today. Captain Kangaroo Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Best observation by the announcers - "Woodson is a much better QB when he's decisive." Scrap the read option. I think that alone would make our offense markedly more effective. We rarely make the correct read. Great job again by the D. Secondary and front 7. One down, 3 to go. Quote

3rd&twenty Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) It's cool that they're having a "watch party" for this game. I can't imagine many will show though. http://gozips.com/sports/fball/2015-16/releases/20151106n6578jThere were 5 Zip fans. Yes, five. Maybe another one, but that could have been an echo. morris buttermaker Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Glad the Zips got the win --- because UMass is a truly awful football team. Quote
skip-zip Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 I've been chanting "one down....three to go" also, ever since the game ended. A win for the defense, no doubt. And again, I felt like this was another game where the offense made plays to gain yardage, but didn't make nearly enough plays to score points. This has been a pattern for the AJ/Woodson led offense many times this year. I hope it doesn't come back to bite us. I don't think we can count on having turnover-free and shutout defense 2nd halves to win every remaining game. 1 Quote
zipsoutsider Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 I don't think we can count on having turnover-free and shutout defense 2nd halves to win every remaining game. Might not count on it but wouldn't rule it out, either. Bowden has stressed that we need the defense to win games and that might mean needing shut outs from them. Clearly he has challenged the defensive unit to step and shoulder the burden. Hopefully they can be enough to get us to a bowl. A bowl would be huge for us in several ways and a fitting reward for guys like Grice who have gutted it out through some ugly times. Quote
Lee Adams Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 Thankfully Chuck's defense has progressed faster than the other guy's offense. The last two weeks have been impressive for the D. Even in the loss to CMU they held a good QB in check. Jatavis Brown has been a force. Hope he gets a look in the pros. Problem is he is kind of a 'tweener. Hopefully he can transition to safety. At least in the second half they got the ball to Hundley enough to take some pressure off Woodson. Hundley is really a trooper. He is there no matter what. Its been obvious for weeks that the Defense would have to 'win' games. Thats not going to change now. Stay with Woodson. Don't make him do more than he can doSomebody above used the word 'cupcakes'. Akron doesn't play any cupcakes in the MAC. They are not that good. Stay awake and get by Miami. Then you have a much better team in Buffalo. Another really solid QB(Licata) with an offense that can run better than UMass. Right now they are probably last in line for bowl games in the MAC. Too many better teams in the west. Plus Buffalo has a shot. Hope OU keeps losing and the Zips beat Can't at the end. 7-5 not 6-6 gets a bowl. Quote
