Balsy
Much better than that Munch interview. Who could listen to that yuk yuk bs? Agreed. Though it was nice to have the local yuk yuk ESPN Cleveland, State Ohio University honk talking Zips football for once.

RowdyZip
I'm not sure this is worth a new thread, but where is everyone watching the game? I see the U had endorsed Johnny J's in the valley as the "official" spot. Myself and about 3-4 friends are going to watch at the Score across from the stadium. If you haven't been, join us. Good food, decent beer selection and very pro-Akron.

My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it.I am planning to watch it with some buddy's from college. Watching it actually IN Akron sounds like a good idea. Dr Z
Vegas "Experts" Pick Bowl Games Will Harris of Sports InsiteThe defenses are way ahead of the offenses in this one, and we really like going under in games involving teams with Akron's profile: decent defense paired with an offense that's effective in controlling time of possession but doesn't actually produce much, especially in the areas of explosive plays and finishing drives. Pick: Under 47.5 Score: Utah State 17, Akron 10 Chris Fallica of Sports InsiteUtah State's season completely went south following its huge upset win over Boise State. Now the Aggies face an Akron team which hasn't been bowling since 2005, boasts a very experienced defense - one which rates higher efficiency wise than many Power 5 teams -- and won four straight just to get here. They will be very motivated to play. Not sure I can say the same thing for Utah State, which considers a trip to Boise as just another conference road trip. Defense and the running and throwing of Thomas Woodson lead Terry Bowden's Akron team to an upset win. ATS pick: Akron Score: Akron 28, Utah State
LZIp
I agree with Chris' take. Coach Bowden keeps saying this is our "Super Bowl" and I wholeheartedly believe thats the attitude the team has. USU is tired of going there. Ripe for an upset! zipsoutsider
Utah State football: Terry Bowden turns Akron into a bowl team"...Heading into their game against Utah State, the Zips are 7-5, including four straight wins. Between 2009 and 2011, which was Bowden's first season, they were a combined 3-33.Akron, it seems, has made a bigger comeback than Star Wars...." zipsoutsider
I have read and heard a lot of mocking comments that seem to almost make it seem like the Zips got the least attractive bowl bid possible. The looks on these kids faces tell a different story. Seems lime they are having a great time.

Balsy
Gotta teach Dylan to write better. But ANY bowl, was extremely important for this program. There were a lot of mocking comments, even members on this board who said we shouldn't accept it because of the cost. What it does for this team, considering where it's come from and what the 5-year seniors have had to endure, this bowl is is the best thing that could have happened for the Zips. Jrship35
Saddest thing is that many of the guys are saying that the love they are getting in Boise is off the charts better than they get at Akron ................. Captain Kangaroo
Saddest thing is that many of the guys are saying that the love they are getting in Boise is off the charts better than they get at Akron ................. Good for them, they deserve every minute of itTo that, I would say - if a player bought into the Zips program over the past few seasons, they didn't do it for the fan adulation. As long as Larry Williams does what he was brought here to do, these 2015 Zips will have laid the groundwork for the future Zips to have a better opinion of the Akron fan base.If Boise State plays in the 2021 Ohio Polytechnic Polymer Bowl, I bet the Akron fans will treat them great.
