Sportsjunkie330 Posted January 6, 2016 Report Share Posted January 6, 2016 Things that I noticed- Poor shot selection- Poor interior defense- Big Dog is a beast- Other than Antino, this team has no quickness at all - I love Jake's effort- How long has Steve French had that Rugby shirt he is wearing- It's a nice change to see the free throw shooting good this year- Man those guys in Vegas know what they're doingGood win for UA - any road win in the MAC is a good win. This isn't UB's worst team since the losing streak started so it's not like the opponent's level has mattered in that gym in the past. The mission was to win: mission accomplished. phil Posted January 6, 2016 Report Share Posted January 6, 2016 We played a much better second half. The big difference is this game is that we executed down the stretch. Last year we were losing these close games in conference play. The back screen where Big Dog was wide open was great. Robotham hit some big free throws at the end of the game. Jake had a key rebound and Reggie hit a key three.We won the game shooting only 32% from the three point land and our starting guards were shooting 5 of 20 and 3 for 13 from the 3 point line. Antino played well down the stretch but he is shooting too much and many of those shots are contested step back three ball. Great win. Go Zips. Contentious statement #1: If that pattern continues the remainder of the season, this team will be MAC Champions! And yes, I <3 Patrick, But DaDog gots teeth! Contentious statement #2: Kwan Cheatham proved once again why FS1 called him "The most NBA-ready body on the Akron team". I wish every away game was broadcast on the American Sports Network. I think they do a nice job. It was an entertaining broadcast last night. I think they did the UMass (football) game this year too.
