Thank you for your kind invitation to come live with you and your family in Akron.  I'm going to pass, but will cherish these memories forever.

You're improving.

Most Wisci trolls are better than you. You need to step up your game. But like I said, you're improving.

Game Prediction Time!

Let me preface this by disclosing that I have placed a $100 wager on the Zips +24.  Don't get too excited, though.  The Badger are going to win.

As I've hopefully made clear, I think our defense is pretty stout, but Kron is the type of offense that can (should?) exploit what I think are our weakest parts, the backfield, specifically the safeties.  If Kron is smart, they'll target them with slants and skinny posts.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Badgers play a lot of 2-4-5 on D to provide some help.  That said, I think the focus is going to be on containing and disrupting the QB.  Expect to get tired of seeing #47 (Biegel) and #42 (Watt) in your backfield.

On offense, I expect the Badgers to play it a bit more conservatively than last week.  The running game did well against a very good LSU front 7, forcing Houston to throw more.  You'll see all three RBs today, coaches have been hinting that 3rd string back Taiwan Deal may see a lot of action.  Take it how you want, but I think they are trying to preserve Clement for the Big Ten games to come.  The OL should impose their will, if not right away, by the middle of the 3rd.  When he does throw, Houston's security blanket is TE Fumagalli.  I don't know how many TE-centric teams you guys see, but Chryst loves himself some TEs.  Avoiding turnovers is likely to be a priority today, so I doubt you'll see many long throws, even though Houston has the arm for it.  Besides the TE, they like quick outs to the flat and screens to the FBs, both of whom are very good.

I don't think the Badger will run away with it, if they get any kind of sizeable lead, they'll likely pull a lot of starters giving Kron a chance for some late-game scores.

37-17 Badgers.

Edit:  Looks like you won't see me after the game after all, since it says I've been banned until 9/22.  If you see this, I guess edit still works.

Thanks for stopping by this week. We got a lot more discussion than usual. I'd guess you were Bernie Kosar, but I'm pretty sure his daughter is a porn star and not a soccer player.

In the midst of a smack-talking thread, I'll drop my sobering prediction.

Wisconsin controls both lines of scrimmage, gets out to an early lead and is never threatened.

Our DE's are better than Wisky's DE's, but you won't be able to tell today.  Unless Jelani Hamilton is a revelation today, our DT's are going to get consistently pushed back by Wisky's OL - minus Grice & Coe, we just don't have the beef up there to stuff the run (against a team like Wisky).  Add to that our inexperienced LB's.  Ulysses Gilbert will have a great game statistically, but the D won't be able to stop Wisky's 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust offense.  The D will get worn down and it'll get worse as the game goes on.  I also predict Wisky will lull us to sleep and hit a couple of big plays.  This could get ugly.

Our potential-laden, but inexperienced OL won't look half as good as they did last week against VMI.  And they struggled to run block vs. the Keydets.  Prediction: Warren Ball ends the day with less than 50-yards rushing.  Our OL pass protection won't be half as good as it was against VMI, so TW-13  won't have time for long plays to develop & will have to rely on the short, quick passing game - Wisky will be able to crowd the box & play our WR's tight one-on-one.  We'll complete some passes but won't break the long one (okay, maybe one).

I'll predict Lane has a decent day, and JoJo breaks an exciting play or two, but we struggle to put it in the end zone and struggle mightily in the kicking game.  When Wisky's not putting the ball in the end zone, their kicker is hitting 40-yarders.

I think the single biggest key to the game will be how our DT's fare against Wisky's OL.  The new DT's didn't impress me much against VMI last week.

Wisky in a walk away.

The Zips 2nd game depth chart can be found here FYI. Still see no Jordan George (is this he hurt or just not in the 2 deep?). Allen is indeed listed above MTB and Newman. I also do not see Jelani Hamilton listed.

I do think think that the depth chart necessarily means anything.
