Sources say Fleck contacted Spillane prior to his official release from WMU. LZIp
Forget the name, but I remember reading WMU's would be leading returning tackler who was intending on transferring changed his mind and is going to stay. A little hit to my chances!
Dr Z
Robert Spillane, Western Michigan’s leading tackler decides against a transfer, returns to Broncos. It was thought at the time that the linebacker could be following his former head coach, P.J. Fleck, to Minnesota; the Gophers subsequently self-reported a minor violation to the NCAA regarding Fleck’s contact with one of his unnamed former players. Wednesday, Spillane’s transfer plans were reversed as Fleck’s replacement, Tim Lester, confirmed that the junior has rejoined the Broncos football team. kreed5120
Not concerned one bit. They still return the bulk of their defense (a couple of which were All-MAC players), 2 All-MAC o-linemen, and an All-MAC RB.

LZIp
Also, PJ needs a miracle win vs Wisconsin this week to get his Golden Gophers bowl eligible. Reminder: They won 10 games last season.
RowdyZip
Not sure where else to put this, so I'll put it here: If Toledo and NIU both lose, it leaves a 3-way tie out west between UT, NIU and CMU. Anyone know who wins that?

Because I was gonna say we all have some Z-fund friendly wagers to settle. I'm good with splitting the difference with @kreed5120 since we were matched against each other, if the Broncos win and become 7-5. I too am rooting for WMU, I'd personally like to see a 2005 rematch. GO ZIPS!

Unfortunately for CMU, there is no chance of getting to the MAC C at this point. The only two possible teams are Toledo and NIU.

Balsy
Well gentlemen, guess there's no need to split the bets. Akron definitively finished with a better record this season than Western Michigan. Hopefully we're men of our word and make our donations to the Z-fund. kreed5120
Recruiting stars never played a factor for me. WMU had a lot of returning talent, namely on defense, on what was a really great team. Akron started the year with a lot of unknowns.
