Logan Tuley-Tillman Departing

He was kicked off the team in 2015 and he was still an undergrad. So, I am wondering if his enrollment at Akron counted as an undergrad transfer? When did ne actually enroll at UA? Is it possible he enrolled for fall and finished a class from Michigan via the web or something to satisfy graduation requirements?

He is a very good tackle and has a real shot at an NFL career. He was a top recruit in 2013, and according to this article, burned a recruiting letter from OSU. I had not realized that he was a four star recruit.

By the looks lf it he bleeds Michigan and if he is returning, it likely more of a matter of his love for them more than his dislike of Akron.

I wish him luck. It seems like he has worked hard and learned some tough lessons.

The 5th year grad transfer rule giveth...and the 5th year grad transfer rule taketh away...

We've been lucky to avoid the problems of early NFL departures and key 5th year players transferring. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

What if Dambrot lost Big Dog and Kwan to transfer this year? It realistically could have happened...it happened in 2015/16 when Cleveland State lost grad players to Wichita State, Michigan State and Louisville(?). Now CSU is losing to Northern Kentucky. W/o Dog and Kwan, we'd be in the same boat.

Hopefully we have an incumbent to take LTT's place, and use his scholarship for a grad transfer D-lineman.

Damn right. Let's get that help we are desperate for on the D line.

Let's see....

We have ANOTHER Qb fiasco this year which ends up having Woodson call out the coaching staff on social media.

We have our highly touted freshman qb with his father on social media ripping the other QB's because of how bad they are and saying that they better hope his son doesn't transfer because the staff is inept.

The mother of our best returning receiver rips the coaching staff on social media and then her son turns pro instead of returning for his senior season, which he needs.

We have our best OL, who by the way transferred here because he thought we were his best playing opportunity transfer out because.... well... he now doesn't see us as his best opportunity.

But there is nothing to see here. Everything is just fine.

You opened up a can of worms with this post. Enjoy the backlash from the fans that think Bowden is God's gift to Akron football.

Let's see who can turn this into another who can trash Bowden first thread, because every thread should be reduced to that.

It isn't a trash Bowden thread. I am just surprised with all of the events that have happened that not 1 person seems concerned about what is going on inside this program. Nobody is even asking a question. The blind faith is startling. I sit back and piece things together and wonder what the F happened that so many people seem to be voicing their displeasure or leaving.

I can't think of a single person that has said that. Buts lets keep pushing agendas.

I've never wanted football season to start more. This constant threadshitting is getting old.

With rosters of 100+ 19-24 year-old egos there is drama like this all the time every season everywhere.  We just happen to follow Akron.

Add the somewhat recent phenomena of social media & now everyone can read about it.

Pretty simple stuff.

If I spent 5 seconds worrying about Jerome Lane's mommy's Tweet pouting about Jo Jo Natson being voted more valuable than Jerome...OMG

 - The truth hurts, mom. He was.

If I spent 5 seconds fretting over Tommy Woodson's Tweet that "They done me shady" after he didn't play in the OU game.... OMG

- You did the Zips shady by weighing in at 260 lbs when we needed you at QB a couple years ago. At the end of the 2016 season you couldn't pick up your right arm, let alone throw a football 50 yards. Get over it and have a great, healthy 2017 senior season.

A OL accepts the chance to play in the Rose Bowl instead of the Potato Bowl...and that's a knock? Really?

A NFL-caliber WR wants to drop Western Cult to focus on an NFL football career, and that's a knock? From everything I've seen, he'll be drafted.

All this stuff could certainly be apocalyptic. Or, it could make me *yawn*  yawn.gif

To each his own. Go Zips!

OSU and every other major program has players transfer out or declare when they probably shouldn't for the draft every season for a myriad of reasons. Shambles I tell you!!

Exactly, can't make 100 competitive people happy & it is the same everywhere, that is not in support or descent of the current staff, it just happens no matter what, there is another thread on here talking about the players leaving OSU & most think pretty highly of Meyer

UCF just had an OL transfer to BAYLOR after just coming off a much improved, bowl-bid season. Shambles! AL WR Ardarius Stewart has unexpectedly declared for the draft. Shambles! VA Tech (coming off a 10 win season) QB Jerod Evans just declared for the draft and will probably be an UDFA. Shambles!!!

In general I feel when things are going good and you're winning, players are less likely to take to social media to voice their petty concerns. When things are going bad finger pointing happens and players start wanting out.

That is my entire point, but everyone just wants to shrug all this off as nothing. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. With the pathetic 2nd half performance last year I tend to pay more attention to things like this, especially when all the noise came from your best players and supposed leaders.

Those guys leave because better players come in and their playing time will be diminished or eliminated. We don't have that issue.

Did you watch the Western, Toledo, Buffalo and BG games during the 2nd half of the season? Shambles could be used... I prefer Ianelloesque.

Bolded the winner. Nobody knows. No use speculating. We've all said our peace regarding the coaching situation. Let it play out and stop all the bickering between the few fans there actually are.

I don't think shrug off, I think how you go about it, I will agree we have concerns, we need better recruiting, we need depth to make it through injuries & people for tons of different reasons leave or quit program, we need people who want to make the Zips better, they got to want to be here, we need to get out there & recruit better, we need to find D1 athletes with the appropriate size & speed, yes you have to find diamonds in the rough with heart but you can't fill a roster with under sized & slower personnel, don't know answer but I hope they look at recruitment as a serious area of improvement after last year & address it

I don't look at all the players social media and things like that but Losing a player early to draft if he can get drafted is good for program, recruiting tool, a player we got lucky getting so he could get some playing time & probably never vested into be a Zip leaving for a better opportunity, good luck to him, hopefully we can find someone who does as well & wants to be here.  Dr. Z's comments makes me think maybe he wasn't all in

@Zipgrad01 it appears the cavalry I was forewarning you about has arrived. Not all of us shrug these things off, I certainly don't.

As I've stated before I feel had we finished the season as strong as we started it, I don't think we would have seen as much as we did make it to social media. If we get back to winning a lot of these things will fix themselves. Keep losing and the voices will just get louder.

Edit: Adjusted

I don't think you have an inherent problem lol, I'm not trying to be a d***, just expressing my opinion, not trying to offend anyone, you are entitled to your opinion & I welcome it, that is what makes a forum
