LZIp
"At 6-3, 225 pounds, Wolfley will switch from fullback to linebacker at Akron, a position that he likely fits better at." He is a class of 2017 3 star recruit (whose only offer was interestingly WVU). Looks like an early enrollee. I'd guess he has to sit out since he enrolled?? Not really a negative though as he is a true freshman. http://247sports.com/Player/Maverick-Wolfley-45495?Institution=22743
LZIp
I am admittedly not to impressed with his tape, but I did find this, which could explain why he wasn't offered by others. He was offered to WVU as a freshman - Dana's first ever offer to a freshman. http://wvmetronews.com/2014/02/24/high-school-freshman-maverick-wolfley-commits-for-2017/

He played a little on the d line in the last scrimmage and did well. Looks bigger than 225?

Dr Z
28 minutes ago, Captain Kangaroo said: Maverick will be missed Something to keep an eye on: A younger Wolfley brother, Jaden, is a starter at Morgantown High School. He, too, is over 6-foot tall and checks in around 265 pounds. He is bound to play at the next level and could wind up with the WVU football team. Since there is now a connection at Akron, Jaden could be a Zip next year as well. Another point: coach Bowden is from Morgantown.
zippy5
Are these Craig Wolfley's sons?
zippy5
Although I see Dr. Z addressed some family earlier, so guessing not.
Captain Kangaroo
From the original post: "Wolfley’s brother, Stone, remains with the team. Their father, Dale, was a former offensive lineman with the Mountaineers, and now serves on the team’s game day staff in addition to coordinating many alumni events for the university. Wolfley’s uncle, Ron, was a standout fullback at WVU who went on to have a 10-year NFL career. "

Dr Z
Invited to NFL camp Quote Maverick Wolfley is the son of former West Virginia standout Dale Wolfley. He spent three seasons at Akron before transferring to Division II West Florida for his final two years of eligibility. IMO Maverick was underutilized during games at Akron. He stood out in practice.

Looks like a courtesy move to his family. Coming off a 1 catch season at a Dll school it would be a miracle if he even made the practice squad.
