It will be interesting to see where the found space for the kids. Sound like Nebreska worked on the arrangements. There is a lot of talk about Huskers feel like they need the Akron game for any hope of becoming bowl elligible. It would be pretty ironic if they went through all of this and we won.

My thought is that the Nebraska staff is probably incredibly helpful and supportive of the Zips.  They have resources unlike a MAC school.

Essentially, the Zips got paid $1 million to fly to Lincoln, Nebraska for a night and then go back home. And now we get to open against Morgan State.

I can think of worse outcomes. Sounds like they took a nice team photo on the field, too.

I'm pretty bummed. I was looking forward to seeing the Mac Jolly Roger flying for next week's game

Three things that Husker fans are irate about that make me laugh:

 

1. They paid us over a million dollars for nothing.

 

2.  That the game was delayed due to lightning. 

 

3.  That after sitting through the rain, they don't get refunds for their tickets.

 

They are pretty upset with the fact that we paid, even without playing, and seem to believe we did not want to play, tomorrow. I am also seeing their security said it could not happen. I believe the latter. These are huge homeland security events.

I find it difficult to believe that the contracting parties wouldn't have expressly provided for such a contingency.

This is the third game the Huskers have ever cancelled and the last time was back in the 40s so not having such a provision is a little easier to believe.

Hopefully, but also unlikely, they have insurance to cover such a contingency.

 

On another note, I must admit I was wrong and you guys were right.

Never in my wildest dreams would I think the Zips could hold the Huskers scoreless for over 2 hours.

This kinda sucks that the game is cancelled.  Nebraska was a 4-win BIG-10 team last year.  Even with a new coach...this is their first game with him.  This was a golden opportunity to steal a BIG-10 win.  Even though most of us didn't think Akron could or would win...oh well...see you all at home vs Morgan State.
