MDZip Posted January 24, 2020 Report Posted January 24, 2020 (edited) IT was an old headline that is still on Gozips and it was only the second line of the headline. To clear up any confusion the full headline was "Dominant First Half Leads Akron To 72-49 Win Over NIU, Zips Take Over Sole Possession Of First Place". By the way, in the ESPN matchup predictor, Zips are favored 75% to 25% over OU tomorrow and are currently favored in every remaining game. Edited January 24, 2020 by MDZip 1 1 Quote
NWAkron Posted January 24, 2020 Report Posted January 24, 2020 Kittens remind me of the Zips of two years ago or even last year. They have a good coach, some talent, some injury issues and have to rely heavily on the 3 ball. I see them making a lot of contested 3s and giving the Zips a good scare causing Groce to call time out as the (legendary in their own minds) O-Zone erupts. Quote

Zips have to keep their wits about them. 1-0 and then on to the next victim...the Canada Bulls. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted January 25, 2020 Author Report Posted January 25, 2020 I've been critical of GT's coverage of the Zips over the last couple of years, but he's been okay recently. I like the stuff he is getting from the Groce and the players. Here's hoping he keeps it up. 2 Quote

LZIp Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 OWho playing tough. We can't let down. Physical game so far. Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 16 pt game at the half. How have we looked? Quote

They fought back a few times this year. Like that Zips went on a tear after Kittens got it down to 4. Quote
MDZip Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 It's hard to look too bad with a 16-point halftime lead. Ohio made a little run to get back within seven and then the Zips stepped on the gas. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted January 25, 2020 Author Report Posted January 25, 2020 I don't like the Zips propensity to let teams back in the game. I like their resiliency in fighting back, but I'd prefer them to stem those runs faster. Quote
Blue & Gold Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 Feels like we’ve started this half a little lackadaisically. Quote
zipsrule Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 Lead down to 6. Need to step it up. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted January 25, 2020 Author Report Posted January 25, 2020 Damnit, that's just what I mean. The offense falls asleep, the defensive intensity slips and they are back in the game. Quote
MDZip Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 Man what has happened to that dominant Zips defense? Quote
