Thank you very much for the new summary page of commits on page 1.  As I wait for the clatter of hoofprints of Santa's arrival, I would like to respectfully ask for some additional information.  Since this year's recruits are going to include many transfers, can you include the remaining years that they can play for the Zips or their current class status.  I would greatly appreciate it.  I would like to know if they have 1, 2, or 3 years remaining in Akron.

Merry Zipmas!!    and to all a good night!

Good idea, Big Jim.  I'll look into it and update that information.

EDIT: No guarantees on the accuracy of # of years of eligibility concerning the transfers, e.g., as far as I can tell transfer DL Curtis Harper should be out of eligibility, but obviously not.

Merry Zipmas.  B&G, thanks for the quick action on the update.  I am certain your accuracy would be much better than mine.  As I await the arrival of guests, I did some research on Harper from 247 and the Syracuse site.  Eligibility appears to be as follows.  2017 - Redshirt, 18 - Freshman, 19 - Sophomore, 20 - Junior, 21 - Junior (Covid repeat), 22 - Senior at Akron.

Now, we need one more DL transfer prior to addressing the offense.

Also, when it was originally posted, Tyler Leopold was originally listed as a defensive lineman.  I do not know if that posting was accurate.

Out for the rest of the day.  Merry Zipmas to all!

COVID repeat year. That’s what threw me off. I was absent minded about that. Of course.

An actual H.S. class of 2022 OL

6'4" 340 lb  and 3 stars from Utah.  Probably been recruited by Oregon.  It would surprise me if he came to Akron, but he would be a good addition.

Question: I do not Tweet, but who is Coach_J_Rod?  Have more of the position coaches been filled but not announced or did I miss this one?  Merry Zipmas!

@Coach_J_Rod is the twitter handle of our new OL coach, J. Rodriguez.

Thank you for the information.

Also, Mr. Amaama has a long list of offers that include P5 schools such as Miami (Fl) and Virginia.  Lets hope JoeMo and JRod can pull some magic and get him to Akron.

I have been surprised with the limited recruiting activity recently, so I did a little research on the recruiting period and rules.  It appears that there is currently a dead period that runs through January 13.  If you have an interest, please review the following link.  It lists the recruiting periods and defines them.  For example, in the dead period, there can be texts and communications but not contact.

https://www.ncsasports.org/ncaa-eligibility-center/recruiting-rules/recruiting-calendar#:~:text=Generally speaking%2C the most important dates on the, more specific dates%2C find your sport-specific calendar below.

I knew the different periods existed, but I did not know the details.  It looks like there are a lot of exceptions for the rules.  I will continue to sit tight as JoeMo's staff does what is needed.  But, do not be disappointed if there is limited activity for the next 11 days.

Sorry if duplicated

I could find little information on him.  Nothing in 247, and a little in MaxPreps.  Looks like a 6'3" 330 lb DT/G graduating high school in 2022.  If I am wrong, I would appreciate any corrections to my data or any additional information on his successes on why he would get an offer and visit from Akron.  Go Zips!!

It stopped after a minute and a half when I was watching.  All I could see is that he is large.  Nobody did him any favors with that tape.

Happy to see him offered by Akron. He certainly was one of the best high school QBs I have seen in recent years.

Also excited to see my alma mater recruiting Central Ohio again and not letting  other MAC schools continue out-recruiting the Zips here.

When/where did you see him play?

West Virginia now has 27 transfers during this calendar year, which leads the country

At one point recently, TJ Banks was turning heads

Tristian Brank has a stellar 2021 by Zips TE standards. He fended off a Kentucky recruit for the starting job this past season. It will be interesting to see how the Banks vs. Brank battle evolves. And if Nik Ognenovic factors in.

WVU TE 2 yrs eligibility

I Did not think TE was a position of need, but am always willing to add depth and possibly upgrade.  TJ did not have a stellar season last year based on stats, but he was the backup TE.  But, I do not know how much the tight end was utilized at WVU.  Maybe JoeMo will run more of the 12 or 13 personnel package and utilize more tight ends, since I think we have a good one in Brank.
