My first daring prediction of 2024.

The only way Finley is still with the Zips at the start of the season is if JoMo does not announce until shortly before game 1 that Wasil (or a new, as yet to be named, stud from the portal) is the game 1 starter.

Explain?

Explain what, his vagabond history?

My best guess is that he has attached his self-worth to being a D1 starting QB and if that doesn't work out, he moves on.

Four questions.................

Why are all you guys(with and without insider knowledge of the Zips football team) ducking monrowe's question?

Is Johnny really JD's son?

If Johnny does play for the Zips, why isn't he listed on the roster?

Why hasn't catdaddyp posted a detailed player bio on Johnny?

I was think with his son on the roster JD might want to come back and get involved with Akron football again. That’s why I asked.

@catdaddyp or anyone on ZNo, Tahj looked so out of his depth last year.  Have you ever seen a QB -who looked as overwhelmed as Tahj did- ever make large enough strides to become a lynchpin D1 QB?

Seems way more along the lines of Tre Chapman 2.0 to me. And most others, I think.

It’d be great if he proved me wrong. But…

Tre Chapman is exactly who he reminds me of as well.

KJ Jefferson would be a recent name everyone knows and a comparison stat wise. In no way am I expecting that kind of leap, but what a threat Bullock would be if he could at bare minimum hit the easy throws and not turn the ball over.

And throw the ball out of bounds on a throw away.

I was skeptical of Tahj after the 2nd game when JoeMo hadn't yet let him throw a pass.  He'd trot Tahj out there and of course it was a QB 'sneak.'  After the 7th QB sneak I was  thinking, 'By now you do realize this isn't catching anyone off guard anymore, right JoeMo?' 😒

Tired of the experienced failed QB’s. Let’s find our own guy or a G5 or P5 QB that hasn’t yet had an opportunity to show what they can do.

A little birdie told me that the early enroll freshman, Roggow, already looks pretty good. Maybe he’s that guy?

Did they give any comparisons, positively or negatively, to Wassel?

There’s no way.

Look, the kid has had one week of spring practice. Not saying if there was a game today that he would go in ahead of Wassel. I just heard that he was looking very good at this point - which isn’t very far along in the big picture.

One word to describe Wasel so far: Rough

Fair point and that’s good news. Based off HS film…Wasel surpasses him by a long shot in my opinion.

The concern at this point is if Finley goes down, there may not be another quarterback on the roster capable of winning many games.

I mentioned this point in another thread.  I have zero confidence in Bullock (and I hate posting things like that b/c I can just imagine a young man getting online & reading that from a fan 😬, but I've got to be honest). Roggow looked promising in the Spring Game (shockingly moreso than Wassel) but he's only a true freshman.  ALL of our chips are on Finley 😬😬😬🤞🙏🤞🙏
