ZippyRulz
might as well onside or pooch kickoff. try to get a special teams turnover since the d is struggling rather than give them good starting position every time..

kreed5120
I'm glad I decided to watch the Guardians game instead. I agree with @ZippyRulz that we'd just he better off onside kicking with how bad our defense is. Hopefully we have 7-8 new defensive starters come next year

LoyalZIP
No reason to even engage with the stupidity. In Arth’s first year, Kato Nelson was 1/14 for 14 yards against Ohio.

Kato's ONE and ONLY big game, was again OU at Infocision. Apart from that he didn't do much. Can't wait for Groce to kick Boals and the Kittens all over the JAR.

kreed5120
I honestly don't know what people expected of this season. Anyone that could look at this roster without wearing their Zips colored lens would have seen this roster was devoid of talent. Nobody was going to turn this team around in 1/2 of a recruiting cycle. 2-3 wins was all that was ever going to be achievable with this roster.
Football grandma
I know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but didn't the Zips post the second highest points scored in a game in the last 3 years? Maybe longer. Shout out optimists.

I was hoping to flirt with bowl eligibility, but realistically, it’s nearly impossible to turn over the worst roster in FBS into something that’s legitimately good. Akron is really bad, but certainly improved in some areas. And three games in a row, they’ve taken some early punches and rallied a little bit to put themselves in position in the second half. Now today of course they were blown out at one point in the second half, but if the defense had simply been bad on that final series, you’re looking at a one-score deficit going into the half and getting the ball. Much like if the punt catastrophe didn’t happen last week. Alas, they continued to move the ball with consistency, just couldn’t turn early drives into TDs or this would’ve been a close game to the end. Ifs and buts and candies and nuts or whatever. This program still has a long way to go, and there’s no arguing that. It feels great to have a coach who cares like this guy does, and it’s awfully fun to watch the offense at times. All eyes on CMU.
clarkwgriswold
The offense works. The Zips were one of the worst 5-10 teams in the FBS last year. Anyone expecting a quick turnaround was wearing their Zips glasses or was unaware that every team participates in the transfer portal. Yes, losing sucks. No one enjoys it. Improvement this year may be going from being the number 130 team in the country to the number 100 team in the country. Any improvement may not show in the win loss record. In any event, 37 days into Morehead's first season as Zips head coach is a wildly premature point to make an assessment. And no, I am not being an optimist or a pessimist. I am being a realist. LZIp
Reminds me a bit of Bowden’s first year. No improvement in the win column, but the team did improve. The offense still has some kinks to work out inside the 20s, but the talent is there, and we only lose Whigan and Shocky after this year. Bring in another WR and 1-2 OL transfers and I think that unit will be top 3 in the conference next year. The defense should be better with all the transfers brought in, but remembee Tibesar was a late add after Toth decided to go to Air Force. I don’t have much opinion either way on the coach Tibesar is on D, but the late add is probably tough for anyone to deal with. This is the MAC, and games every week really are unpredictable, just look at the box scores. Because of that, I still think we can win another game or two this year. Moorhead consistently says he’s building the program (not rebuilding because there is nothing to rebuild). As frustrating as it is to watch, all the problems were never going to be solved this year. Go Zips.
