Game 5 - Buffalo

At this point don't care about the score. I am tired of watching Moorehead's  marshmallow offense. I am tired of his offense hanging the defense out to dry. I am tired of watching Irons try to play QB. I am tired of Moorehead in desparation inserting a QB who has watched the entire game from the bench.  No run game in the offense. That's Moorehead's fault. Staying with a QB who holds the ball too long, is generally inaccurate and makes poor decisions. Even a 'close' game isn't a whole lot of fun to watch. The results seem inevitable.

To Buffalo's credit, they figured it out. They ran the ball between the tackles a lot. Their QB generally made good decisions and put the ball on target, on time.

Won't win many more games this way.

Lingard is a terrific running back, but I don't think I'd have him back protecting against the blitz anymore.

We can't beat bad teams (IU and UB) even when they try to hand us the game. That's been the story of Akron football for as long as I've followed with a few exceptions during Brookhart's and Bowden's tenures.

 

Untimely penalties, poor discipline, narrow play calling, and an inability to adapt a game strategy are all coaching. New coach. Same Akron. Let the revolving door continue until someone like Tressel wants to rescue us out of sheer pity.

Akron has to have one of the worst QB rooms in the country. There are people in it, but nothing in it.

It is often said that any publicity is good publicity. In terms of Zips football, I strongly disagree. What an embarrassment!

On paper it’s actually pretty solid. Leads me to believe our highly touted HC and young OC need to do better.

The Zips have one position badly underperforming. I'm guessing this fix needs to take place in the office season. By fix, I mean rebuild the QB room.
