Western Michigan - very tough road game on August 30

Recommended Posts

interesting adjustment to switch Dyson from left wing to right wing

and move Stefan to left wing

Having Dyson and Malik on same side....is a lot of speed

nice assist by Malik.....on the goal.....

young Canadian freshman Simon Guardiero....doing well in first start...

Proud of the zips

they got kicked in the teeth on Sunday night

they fought and battled today

Dyson Clapier was very active today......his best game this year.

Prayers and good thoughts for Ashton Kamdem.   His injury does not look good.

I will take the 1-1 road result.

However, we are down several defenders right now.

Hope Ashton Kamdem is OK, but it did not look good.

Josh Hardin, appreciate the Moxy, but you got to back off when carrying a YC.

Everyone gets to act the fool once; you just spent your one time.

I do like your fight, young man!

Any word on Roberto Ydratch?  That did not look good against Buckeyes.

Really loathe that soccer program.

First of all, get lights. Until then, open the damn exposure on your camera so we can actually see the game on TV.

Speaking of the camera, get a tower for the camera. I don't need a first row at the 50 yard line view. As long as Brian Kelly isn't controlling the tower decisions, everyone should be ok.

Second of all, does their NIL find go to the refs?

I hate complaining about referees.  I really do.  But that crew in Kalamazoo was awful.

Akron led 15 to 8 in shots

Akron led 8 to 3 in shots on goal

Akron led 7 to 4 in corner kicks

Akron appeared to have the majority of the time on the ball

However, Akron was called for 19 fouls.  Akron players were getting knocked down everywhere... WMU was only called for 9 fouls.

I'm out of likes. Great to see the stats that confirm what we saw ... our Zips playing the better game. Got homered as I mentioned. Fouls and cards not called on WMU. Ashton Kamdem badly hurt but our Zips finish the match down a player; not WMU. That ref crew was worse than awful.

Zips played well yesterday. Controlled most of the game that they were able to. Played aggressively in attack and defense and very unfortunately not to win.

The positives were simple - Clapier looked like he wanted to score, Gaulmin looks like a stud we need and Malik was dangerous all game from D.

The negatives - seems like Akron got some injuries on the day. Camera work was bad but Ashton off injured and Guardiero off injured also (who had a fine debut).

The referees though... 🥲

Their pk was trash. Not a pk call in any game.

The goal not called for a 'foul' on WMU defender was very bad.

And it overall seemed like WMU got more calls than we did as usual.

We move onto Monday. Zips will get us all the win we need!
