Hilltopper
We should have won by 20! Emu sank a half court shot at the buzzer. Considering the way everything went down this season tonight was a great ending.
Copley Don
So what’s the deal with next season? I know we have a couple redshirts that will be in the mix but who are we looking to add? Shelbee needs to be the focal point of the offense and I feel we need to add a solid PG at the very least. Watching the girls in Cleveland the past couple days we are not even close to that level currently. 1

Watching Ball State and Toledo in the championship game right now reinforces that. Edited March 15 by ewbrooman1
Copley Don
Alexus Mobley hit the portal. https://x.com/taliagoodmanwbb/status/1901702430246818173?s=46&t=fAyoMi31YFB6KG8DnxKteA

Hilltopper
If you guys are going to make snarky comments, you should at least know what your talking about. Considering the amount of injuries and other issues with players, this year's team still competed every night. You know that Bud Wentz also runs a NIL program for the womens team? We have some pretty good freshmen and will pick up a couple more players from the portal. Shelbee Brown will be back and those injured players will return too. Gensler is a good coach. Eventually things will start to go our way. 2

Don't know what her season status was, as far as injuries, personal probs, etc., but was very disappointed as she was a tremendous local hs athlete who should be a star at the MAC level. Alexus Mobley, on the other hand has only one more year remaining to play after being a jc transfer. She won't get a lot of attention. Overall, when does the put-up or leave-town pressure hit coach Gensler?

Overall, when does the put-up or leave-town pressure hit coach Gensler? It is doubtful that Riley will return. Mobley will be missed but I'm confident Gensler will find a replacement in the portal. He is feeling any outside pressure at this point. Only the pressure he is putting on himself to turn the tides of this program.

Losing Mobley and possibly Brown adds to the loss of a foundation to build on. Compounding that is the questionable return of injured players and players with personal issues and you have little consistency, chemistry or culture. Groce caught lightning in a bottle when he brought in 9 new players, but his culture and tradition were firmly established and unchanging. Ryan does not have that advantage. I hope he rights this ship, but it is no knock on the program to cite reality. We welcome being proved wrong.

Cutting women's basketball isn't even an option. It's a MAC requirement. To be clear my comment earlier wasn't intended to be disparaging. It was more of the variety of if we can finish at or near the bottom of the MAC with X player, we can certainly achieve that without them. It's not really a sky is falling situation. Copley Don
-If we apparently have a NIL program for the women’s team, what the hell is it going toward? What’s our portal plan? -Did anyone even try to talk to Reagan last off-season before she walked? No, they did not. -There’s no pressure on Gensler? I would certainly hope there is right? Halfway through his contract, has a new boss, and MOST IMPORTANTLY is: 21-39 overall, 10-26 in conference. -Charles is gone now guys, you don’t have to defend his “culture changing” hires anymore.

I noticed this the other day when I was on the collective site, WBB is the only sport you can donate directly to. The others don't have a way of donating directly to as of yet. You have to donate to the general fund instead. How well the WBB collective is funded relative to our peers? I can't begin to guess, but it certainly exists. You can always choose to contribute. https://www.feartheroocollective.com/contribute Edited March 19 by kreed5120
clarkwgriswold
Between all of the injuries, "personal issues" and defections, I don't know how anyone could have expected more of the Zips this season. If they remained intact for the season and ended up here I could understand the disappointment but they had to recruit non-roster athletes just to field a team. Does any of that fall on the shoulders of the head coach and his staff - IMO it can’t all be blamed on bad luck. Lack of depth going in had to contribute to some extent, no?

Steve1981
Don't think you should base what the MAC should do, based on your disappointments. Using this year, the MAC has 2 teams in the WNIT and a future member for 3 teams. The MAC is fine. MAC Buffalo against future member UMass in the second round of the WNIT at 2PM Sunday. ps. You will be our first of our 4 MACtion football games on Nov 4th. There should be very little dip in MACtion games. We'll loss the metro Boston crowd, but there are a lot of locals that will attend.
