GP1 Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 (edited) Respectfully, discussions about how teams are rated in college basketball are some of the worst and most tedious discussions in sports. Ranks right up there with NIL deals, the transfer portal, and exit velocity in baseball for me. They are part of the ongoing process that makes everything about the NCAA Tournament. It's ruining college sports. Edited June 26 by GP1 1 Quote

No better time than now to boot them both from the MAC. From the article: "... sportsbooks saw unusual betting interest against Eastern Michigan in the first half. The Eagles trailed at the end of the first half in each game." "The NCAA said that, due to the lack of cooperation, the enforcement staff was unable to determine whether sports betting violations occurred." What a joke. 1) Any bettor worth their snuff could tell that EMU doesn't play defense and just sucks in general. 2) The NCAA is the equivalent of the Abominable Snowman at the end of Rudolph - toothless. Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Coming off a buzzer beater loss at Loyola (IL), who subsequently lost to Mercyhurst at home by 8 the other night (Mercyhurst is in their second season as a DI program), Cleveland State survives a scare from DIII Capital. They play Northwestern on Monday before traveling to Portage County on the 15th. Will be a decent litmus test to see where PCCC is at. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted Tuesday at 03:29 PM Author Report Posted Tuesday at 03:29 PM Duquesne plays its annual game at SVSM this Saturday at 4:00 against Northeastern. I've been to 2 or 3 of these now and its interesting to watch a D1 basketball game in that intimate of a setting. I wasn't a fan at the start of these as I was afraid it was in part a recruiting ploy but I haven't seen that happening. It's free D1 basketball in our own backyard., 3 Quote
Illini Zip Posted Tuesday at 05:28 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:28 PM I so badly want a marketing campaign to troll the big conferences. Something like… “Akron Basketball, good enough to play in the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Big 12 and the Big East.”* * Based on Kenpom rankings on 11/18/2025. If they don’t like it they are welcome to send Rutgers, South Carolina, Utah, Boston College or DePaul amongst others to Akron to prove us wrong. Go Zips!! 3 1 Quote

The NIU point guard I wanted us to try for went to Kansas and is now at Maryland? Good grief. How does Kansas not hang onto a guard capable of putting up 40 points? They must have guards who can put up 50. Quote

Kansas replaced 5'11" Coit with 6'6" Darryn Peterson (son of former Akron standout Darryl Peterson) who has 21 and 22 pts in his first two collegiate games. He has been out with a hamstring injury but otherwise, they traded up IMO. Coit is a heck of a shooter but he's more of a liability on defense. Edited 57 minutes ago by Let'sGoZips94 1 Quote
