csims0917 Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 I really think last years team got an unfair shake with injuries they were always competitive the first 2/3s of the game then would just run out of gas. Really hope this can be a breakout year and they can make the mac tourney. 3 Quote

MDZip Posted November 14 Report Posted November 14 (edited) Those 16 steals are an all-time NCAA D-1 record. I watched the game for a bit at the start of the second half and they were getting destroyed. Saw one Zips basket and Notre Dame running all over them. Now they are a top 15 team, so I have no idea how the Zips stayed as close as they did. Edited November 14 by MDZip 1 Quote
Copley Don Posted Sunday at 09:21 PM Report Posted Sunday at 09:21 PM Vikings 76 Zips 55 Not sure what my expectations should have been coming into the third year of this regime but it’s very apparent we are a not making progress. Not sure what to attribute it to but hopefully with all the new players some cohesiveness and improvement will be seen throughout the season. 2 Quote

Yesterday against Michigan she had 12 pts on 4-21 shooting and 7 turnovers in a 93-54 loss. Obviously a much higher quality opponent, but a really bad day for a really good player. Quote

I watched that game and saw nothing but disgusting basketball. The mistakes were constant and never corrected. CSU did not press or play 94' of basketball and yet we had 20 turnovers by the middle of 3Q. Last year it was all the injuries. In year three we were supposed to be turning it around with culture, talent, recruiting, schemes, etc. Everyone I know on campus who knows coach Gensler says he is a great guy with a superior basketball mind. They believe in him. But I look at the results and scratch my head. How can we be so bad in year three? I hope he is a miracle worker. 2 Quote
MDZip Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Zips women had an awful, awful loss against Binghamton. They were up by five points with seconds left in regulation and let Binghamton tie it. They were up by 2 with seconds left in the first overtime and let Binghamton tie it. Then Binghamton fouled out six of their players and only had five available players at the end of the game and still Akron let them win. They are a turnover machine. They turned the ball over 25 times tonight and their average came DOWN. And missed 18! free throws. Edited 20 hours ago by MDZip 2 1 Quote
LZIp Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Starting to sound like we should have kept Ms. Jackson. Year three and the program is as bad as it’s ever been. 2 Quote
ZZZips Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago On a more positive note. A member of the womens volleyball ball team was chosen to putt in the Wentz Financial Group hole-in-ine contest. I think she is the first person to win the jackpot. 3 Quote

Zippy87 Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago I admittedly haven't followed the program as closely as the men's team, but it doesn't seem like the program is moving in the right direction. I watched the last few minutes last night and they looked bad. Quote
JodiKestFan Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago BAD! No excuses, Ball State lost 90% of their production to graduation and still look as good as ever. Quote
infofan Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Fundamentals cost them the game. 20plus TOs, Missed 18 FREE THROWS! and up 3 with 5+ seconds to go everyone knows you foul. Dont allow a streak shooter to even attempt the tying shot. Not to mention that was against a team that had fouled out SIX! yes SIX players! Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago One small thing that jumped out at me recently occurred at the Tip-off reception. Each year, the men's and women's team each have a player take the stage with their coaches for a Q and A. The men's players have been veteran team leader guys like Nate, Enrique and Tavari. Regan Bass was Enrique's counterpart. I don't remember last year's women's participant. This year it was an exceptional engineering student but she was new to the team. It made me wonder about the continuity and stability of the roster. 1 Quote
Copley Don Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Reagan would have been the women’s participant last year (and easily 1st team All-MAC) but she hit the portal the first chance she could. As for this year it was definitely going to be a new face considering the huge amount of turnover. Not sure if this is just a sign of the times/the new norm or if this is going to a revolving door roster with Gensler here. Quote
LZIp Posted 56 minutes ago Report Posted 56 minutes ago With Bud’s involvement, I would think we have at least a respectable NIL base compared to our conference peers as well… Quote
