Things seemed to be heading the right direction last year and that seems to have continued!

Unsurprisingly, the softball went well and the baseball is not going well.

They are playing really well, definitely also taking advantage of other teams mistakes.

Based on my own quick research, Akron softball's all-time best MAC record is 23-5 in 1998. Second most is 19 wins in 1997.

With 9 MAC games left, 23 wins might be tough, but 19 is certainly in play. Also, not sure if they've ever finished first in the regular season, but they did win the East division in 1998 and 2002. There's no divisions anymore, of course.

The 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Softball Championship will be held at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio. [1, 2]

The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 6 to May 9, 2026. The top six teams from the conference regular season will qualify for the championship. [1, 2]
