Dayton is going to be a challenging first game.

 

They are picked to finish 2nd in the Atlantic 10 and 3 of their players were selected to the pre season All League team.

It was announced that the rowdies and inter fraternity council will be hosting a pregame tailgate for this game. Love seeing soccer get this treatment

That's great. I wasn't sure how many students will be at this match since it's before the semester starts. I believe it's on the first day of move-in for on-campus students.

I was looking over the Dayton roster while eating lunch today and it's very intriguing...They have 6 players from Africa (4 from Ghana, 2 from Nigeria) and 5 from Europe (Two from Spain and 1 from Portugal, Denmark, and France).

I know Akron is no stranger to international players, but I'm not sure we've ever had 11 in a single season (unless you include Canada).

Yeah, that's what I heard while watching the women's match broadcast on Sunday.

I am very disappointed that the Beacon Journal did not do a pre season article on the 12th ranked soccer zips.

Would have been nice to get some local press...and maybe put a few more fans in the seats Thursday night.

 

Hopefully, they send a reporter to tomorrow's game.

I was going to post here that the Dayton game is not listed as showing on ESPN+ on GoZips dot com, but as I look more closely, NONE of our games are listed as showing on ESPN+. What gives?

Apparently so. Over the past weekend, I noticed the link on ESPN+ for Akron v Dayton Men's Soccer when specifically searching soccer.
