As a Zip fan, I have seen so many stupid penalities that have killed drives this last one should come as no surprise.  However, when you looked at the replay you could see the Minn. player not getting off of our player.  I know the ref threw the flag but I do not think it should have been thrown when a player causes the foul.

Despite the score, I’m actually really encouraged by the 1st half.

Abor and Durham are going to wreck shop in MAC play. Abor has been used inside and out, and has been a terror for the Minnesota OL. Having Durham on the opposite side has made a difference. I liked what I’ve seen out of Kavals too. D. Frazier has looked good dropping into coverage, which isn’t a surprise as he played LB in high school.

Blitzes are mostly hitting home this game. Though when we don’t get pressure on Lindsey, our secondary is getting torched. Minnesota has done an excellent job freezing our nicklebacks and safeties with their RPOs. There was one play where Branch was caught completely flat footed - he didn’t even move as he wasn’t sure who had the ball.

I thought offensive playcalling was excellent, but the drops and penalties killed us.

Let’s see what the second half brings.

I like how we had first and goal with the nine and got hit with two bullshit 15 yard penalties that killed a momentum that really sucked.

at least here at the stadium, they look like complete bullshit. I don't know what they look like on replay but here they look like they should've never been called.

With 8 minutes to go in the third, if Akron can get a TD, they are in striking distance.

Just when I press the period button on the sentence about, the punt disaster happened. What a day.....

Another solid defensive play bested by a slightly better offensive play. Sigh....

Yep. Good coverage. Not much else you can do on that one

Too many mistakes for there to be any striking distance.

Yes, but I'm glad they didn't come in here acting like they'd lose.  That's a major shift for this coaching staff.
