Overall I like the addition of transfers who are RFr and So. Vastly different then one year rentals. I think that's a viable strategy. Keep after these kids who went to big schools and then saw the writing on the wall.

Might be worth taking a few grad courses at Wilmington to see if you sprout-up?

That stunk. It was fun to talk about running the table but odds were we'd lose one or two. The good thing is we see what it takes to beat us - a career game from Simmons and the two worst games of the season from Dog and Kwan. Not worried one bit

Just a guess, but I think B&G's comment was probably more of a commentary on Aaron Jackson than it was on Daniel Utomi.

For me, I felt the critical part of the game was when Josh missed the open 3-pointer when we were up 5 points. With an 8 point lead and Big Dog coming off the bench rested in a couple of minutes, I felt like we wouldn't have lost. We did a heck of a job battling without him on the floor. With that said, someone should be livid about taking a team's best player and fouling him out by making his 3rd and 5th fouls a technical for jawing with opponents, and Keith has already said that he didn't swear. And on his 4th foul, the officials said he was moving setting a screen, and it was actually Kwan setting the screen for him and he was just running past the screen and someone flopped. The biggest travesty is that you don't call a Double Technical after the Halftime buzzer when one player is the best player in the league, and the other is a bench stiff. You can't do that and say that you are penalizing both teams. Period. The MAC will continue to wonder why they can't get more teams in the tournament, yet they will allow games like this, just like our NIU road game unexpectedly stopped our momentum last year.

That's the key to the loss tonight. With around 5 minutes left, game is tied, you're in double bonus, you're having a bad shooting night, Big Dog just came back well rested after a while on the bench. What do you do? YOU DON'T TAKE A FREAKIN THREE.

Ugh. Lots of blame to go around. Awful possessions after they went up 5 completely changed the game and let the momentum swing back to OU. Let me say first that I'm not one generally to b!+ch about the refs. Keith implied in the post-game that the refereeing in the MAC contributes to the MAC never getting an at-large bid. The refs can't take the best players in the league out of games without it adversely impacting the product under review by the selection committee. A double tech on kids jawing at each other on the way to the locker room is ridiculous, as is a 38-16 free throw disparity. All of that being said, the Zips had their chances and should have capitalized. They also showed a lack of composure at times today. The realists on here recognized they lose at some point. Time for the Zips to move onto Ball State and put this one behind them.

Any road game in conference is tough. I'll take 4-1 at this point. I'm more troubled by the lack of composure at the end. But think a lot of that was the pressure of the streak. Now let's get back home and take care of business against Ball State.

Going to need to win the MAC tournament but it was always going to be that way anyway. Going to likely be #1 seed just need to win those 3 games. Good fight today just not enough.

Having 13 rebounds is not a poor game.

Too bad you guys lost this game to YSU if you had won you would still have at large hopes. I don't really start watching college basketball heavy (like watching every single game) until late December when Fantasy Football season is over so I missed this game. Hard to believe looking at the record you have right now you could lose to such a crappy team in YSU.

Agree...I don't know I am still holding out some blind hope though that at least 1 of them will be here. All 3 transferring here, sitting out a year, and then deciding to either quit football or transfer and sit out again (i believe) seems unlikely. Even more so when you consider the fact that there is plenty of opportunity at the position and a pretty good QB should be throwing to them. The defense should be quite improved/healthy again which will help and I think people are sleeping on the RB situation as well. Ball is the real deal, in MAC play at worst. He gained 70 on Wisconsin in a half. Even if he gets hurt there is now another P5 guy who has shown promise behind him as well. i don't have any real expectations because there are a lot of newcomers, but I'm not pessimistic, just have a wait and see attitude I guess.

Amen. I'm amped about this class. I wouldn't be as much if we didn't know about the players who weren't announced, but since we do...

All I can think of is I'm excited for Zips football again, screw the naysayers.
