  1. I heard from a senior administrator that baseball will never come back. He cited costs of operation more so than scholarships and coaches salaries. He said the university was not willing to put money into the practice and game facilities needed to run class operation in baseball. He also cited the effect adding baseball would have on the Title IX relationship of men's sports expenditures to women's sports expenditures. In other words, not having baseball makes the ratios look better. They must be comparable. I think we should have seen this coming when the owner of the Rubber Ducks offered to let the Zips use his stadium for most home games provided the university sink a half million dollars in locker rooms and offices needed to accommodate game day activities. The AD declined. Too bad.

  4. I've been playing with the MAC playoff simulator a bit and if we'd like to see Buffalo, Ohio and Kent all on the opposite side of the bracket its seems like there are four key games, need Buffalo to win at Ohio, the Zips to beat Kent and Ball State to win both of theirs. That's the easiest looking path, but the first two look critical.

  7. Agreed. With the Zips inability to put anybody away all season, Noble-Time has been nonexistent. Amazing that they could win the MAC outright with 2 games remaining without any garbage time for the non scholarship players. I hope the effort is there, we hit some shots, protect the ball and get back on defense. I want a Noble 3 to go out on with the assist from Anderson.

  8. It's always someone else's fault, other than the students'. I see it on a daily basis. Thing is, I refuse to enable it. I FIRMLY believe that you get directions and that you be responsible for following them, remembering them and be diligent enough to be on time for them. Now, high school students you can't leave at the airport...but adults? Blame falls on yourself, just saying.

  9. Plenty of fault to go around. Heck, I'm always perplexed at the number of suits on a college bench. Can't one of them count? Also, these kids are old enough to know to stick with the group. Mom needs to crap her trap rather than draw attention to the fact she raised an irresponsible goof.

  10. I was pretty confident that we would clinch on Tuesday night anyway. I wasn't going to root for Kent

  11. You don't see people putting him on the "crap list" when some were calling for an inexperienced freshman Guard who plays a few minutes a game to replace him? And another post that indicated that he should not be in the 8-man rotation? The timing may be especially what made the comments seem strange. He was coming off of an 11 pt. 5 assist game, and has had a stellar asst./TO ration. I understand Akron expectations. But I'd take that every single night from the guy who Quarterbacks a team loaded with guys who can score.

  12. I also like Robotham's steady game. He's not flashy most of the time but he's pretty darn dependable. His last few games may have not been fantastic but I prefer to look at the "whole body of work". Still averaging around 8 points per game, shooting around 36% from 3, leading the team in assist to turnover ratio (and just barely behind Big Dog in assists per game) and second on the team at about 80% from the free throw line. I'd say that's a darn solid contribution from what you'd want from your point guard.
