  3. I read his pregame write up. It seemed like it was written by an algorithm lol. Or a Nigerian spammer. Thomas is lucky to have a job.

  4. I will eat crow. Iowa State is much better than I gave them credit for. I am glad the Zips won. I hate to lose. Winning is much better.

  5. How about we just beat Ohio so we don't have to worry about any of this Prior to this season, the I have never seen the Zips beat BG or OU since I've been a fan. Only makes sense to get both monkey's off the back in the same season.

  6. Agreed. The only player I see the opposition targeting is Denzel Butler.

  7. Okay, back to a better subject....I was sitting there getting steamy, despite the cold, wet weather, watching the Zips collect stupid penalty (beginning with Junk) after stupid penalty that aided the Bulls move down the field. 4 for 49 yards. Then....voila! No more! The guys go it together and played penalty free (I believe) for the remainder of the game! Way to go Zips!!! and coaching staff too!

  8. That rag has gone from a staff of dozens to a staff of about a dozen. It is now at the level of the Mr. Thrifty classified paper of the 80's and took a distant second place in Summit County to the St. Vincent St. Mary Leprechaun Gold for excellence in journalism last year. Were it not for the mess at Summa and the heroin epidemic it would be a 3 page paper.

  9. I’m sure that’s exactly why he is our reporter. How much do you expect them to invest for a fan base of a couple hundred?

  10. I gave up on Thomas years ago when he had a similarly negative article about a Zip basketball game and I then learned it was an away game he did not attend. From a perch in front of a TV in his mom's basement he was able to assess the Zips' collective attitude and effort. Shame we're subjected to him as the Zips beat writer.

  12. These are all awesome pics, but this is an especially great shot. Guess I should caveat that with IMHO. Thanks for your time and commitment. Go ZIPS????

  13. I'm not surprised. "The Zips can thank a missed field goal.." "The Bulls used that 3rd quarter to soften up the UA defense..." And it doesn't get any better than this. "In the end, Buffalo should have won...." I can assure you that he would not have used a line like that to describe Penn State if he was the one covering the improbable comeback of his beloved silver and red.

  14. Winning out, or not, is not the issue I'm addressing here. It's winning the MAC East. And we can't win the MAC East just by beating OU at home, if Miami keeps winning.

  15. Nice shots on a crummy weather day.

  16. I recall hearing about a secret scrimmage from last year against Michigan that supposedly foretold greatness. Then the Zips promptly lost to YSU.

  17. Lets at least be fair and characterize our 4 victories while bashing Bowden (Yes, we're 4-1 in conference play with the coach you are profanely criticizing). We beat a couple of poor teams. We beat a team today that played really well when they had their current starting QB early in the season. And we beat another team on the road that's been a really good team most of this year, and might still win the MAC West.

  18. Admittedly, I think they are even FAR better than any of us could have imagined. I just scoffed at those who ridiculously wanted to parade around Zips Nation after our loss, talking about how bad ISU was, just because they have a desire to watch Terry get fired.

  19. We have a few things impacting our run game right now: 1. Erickson moved to play center while Gautheny is out. We were very effective running to Erickson side before he assumed responsibilities as a center. 2. Injury to Newman Williams - we had some of our best runs with Williams and Booker as blockers. 3. Edwards and Morgan are not skilled at making something out of nothing. Sands is better at this. I think that going down the stretch Sands might be the man. I hope, anyway. 4. We were not passing well enough to have tge pass open up the run. 5. We did try, very early to both run outside of tackles as well as het sweeps. They just were not there. 6. Today, we went up against one of the best LBs in the league (Hodge.) These factors all add up and our run game has been stifled as a result.

  20. I felt we would roll because a freshman QB was scheduled to start for Buffalo. He didn't. We won. Again. Go Zips!

  21. Let's finish the season 4-0 and silence the critics once and for all. Go Zips, it starts with a win on Saturday.

  22. Miami, Buffalo and Kent are at, or below our competitive level. Those need to be "W's." OU has the advantage of being a steady winner for an extended period. We're still figuring out how to win. But at home, a bowl-worthy Zips team should match up well with the Bobcats. No excuses...we're healthy, and in-line for a championship berth. Time to roll.
