  1. Buffalo being made to work a full 40 to put away gritty Miami gives hope to all who make their way to the Q. Both games tonight were pretty darn entertaining. Love the direction this conference as a hole is heading. Miami may be a real handful next season.

  3. Just listened to the post-game. Groce told us the obvious- Ohio U was better physically and mentally and played with more heart. He left out that they were better coached. That was a heartless effort. Nobody seemed to much give a $h!+. Ivey and LCJ got introduced to the bench early and deservedly. Shame the didn't have enough players available to sit Utomi, Riak, Cheese, Banks and Roscoe with them. Too bad they won't dress Lucas Smith. He'll at least put up a fight. The next time I see the bench crew having a party during a loss, I will start screaming at them from the rail. I realize this loss was an ugly one and the exception to the rule, but today I am left to wonder where the progress is in this program. This sure as hell better be a wake up call. If we see the smallest modicum of this Tuesday night, we can pack it in.

  4. Glad I missed this one. Downright embarrassing. I might have to miss the rest of the season too. Getting slaughtered by the worst or 2nd worst team in the conference is inexcusable.

  5. I predict a home 'coming out party' for Jeremy Roscoe today. I think he will be a key element in any success we enjoy during the MAC tourney.

  6. I watched it on ESPN+ after I got home last night. I got all wrapped up in it! It was fun to watch! You could tell the crowd was having a blast.

  7. If you weren’t there, you don’t have a clue how exciting last night was. Even a casual fan would have realized how special it was. 6 events and the last 5 were all record setting. Amazing how simple swimming and track are. The fastest wins. In the 400 Individual Medley Olivia Sapio won for Buffalo as Zip Jackie Pash made a furious attempt to catch here, but took silver. Then it started. 100 Butterly MEET AND MAC RECORD by Zip Frosh Sarah Watson, plus Paulina Nogaj takes silver and MorganWaggon 6th. BAM! 200 Freestyle and Frosh Camila Lin’s de Mello of Miami sets a MEET AND OCASEK record, Sofia Hennell wins Bronze and Avery Movold and Ellie Nebraska place in Championship final. WOO HOO! EMU’s Delaney Duncan breaks the MEET, MAC AND OCASEK record in the 100 Breaststroke. Zip Paula Garcia takes silver, Andrea Fisher 5th. Hold On to your swim caps! Zip Sadie Fazekas breaks the MEET AND MAC record in the 100 Backstroke! She’s been awesome IMHO. Then the Zip team set a new MEET, MAC AND OCASEK record in the 400 Medley Relay! 5 records falling in a row, and the ONAT was rocking! Oh yeah, and as I thought, the team title isn’t even in doubt, as Akron leads EMU by almost 200 points! With only Saturday in play. I know everyone will be concentrating on the two B-Ball games at the JAR tonight, but your Zip swimmers are about to win their 6th title in a row.

  10. I have been driving a lot over the past 2 days...so I am slow in responding. I wanted to acknowledge and thank TJ for all of his contributions to Zips soccer. Jared, Ger and TJ did super work in the MAC tourney and the NCAA tourney leading and improving the zips soccer team (while operating with one less coach than most teams). Very happy for TJ that he has moved into an assistant position.

  11. I love this for my own personal reasons. In high school our guidance counselors told us to have a realistic set of colleges to attend and then also apply to one "outside of the box" that you would love to attend. While most of my classmates were thinking in terms of Ivy League or Stanford or Northwestern-type schools I knew my finances would never allow for any place like that. So, my "outside of the box" school was New Mexico State. I loved what their cultural geography department offered at that time. Of course, I never even had the finances or ability to make a campus visit. I could not be happier with the fact that I attended and graduated from Akron with a degree in Geography and Planning but I have always had a strange affinity for NMSU as well. Not sure about getting out to Las Cruces next year but I will have to be certain to be in attendance in 2022.

  12. Those words were never spoken. Liberty has something like 100k students between their online school and campus. I'm well not all 100k are white caucasians. All I was trying to say is that I feel their presidents comments would negatively impact their recruiting efforts and that I don't feel they will ever be able to recruit well enough to reach a P5 level like many here are trying to say they will.

  14. What's your point? Neither of those wins are all that great. UCLA fired their coach in December because of poor performance and are currently rated as the #116 team in the country. They aren't even good enough to make the NIT this year. Congrats, they beat Kent by 12 fewer points than we did and its not like our season is anything to write home about.

  15. We have added 2 cheerleaders and some students! I really missed our atrocious shooting. I'm so glad it's back.
