  3. Diogo Pacheco was very good during his time on the field. Definitely man of the match what a scrum......on their near goal.... crossbar was the zips friend tonight David Egbo really worked hard on defense. However, the zips need to figure out a way for David to get the ball more in their half of the field Also, the refereeing for the match was awful. Zips were called 22 fouls vs. 9 for the home team

  5. Nope. Larry Williams bound him, gagged him, put him in his trunk and dropped him at the doors of Duquesne's gym.

  9. Swimming and Diving get back in the pool this weekend as they get their first real test in a tri-meet with the Buckeyes of Ohio State and Kenyon Friday, and then a glimpse of one of their traditional MAC rivals on Saturday at Athens in a dual with Ohio. The long course (full pool, 50 meters) meet against Toledo was a little anti-climactic, with no real benchmark to judge traditional performances against, plus the competitive squad was small. But in that meet we saw glimpses of Sarah Watson's speed as well as Paulina Nogaj's strength. Freshmen Andrea Galisteo, Gail Workman and Weronika Goreka stood out as newcomers. The real improvement to me came from the divers, as Andrea Bugariou and Kate Applin dove well and took on more difficult dives in their rotations. Just a few short weeks form the Zippy Invitational, a 3 -day meet that will be telling.

  10. Besides the already documented rise for the WSOC program the past few seasons, culminating in a tie for 4th place in the MAC regular season and a second straight trip to the MAC Tournament, It was great to learn that freshman Goal Keeper Libby Harper, an Englishwoman, was named Freshman of the Year by the 12 MAC Coaching staffs, and that Ashley Amato, who sometimes seemed to carry this team on her shoulders the past 4 seasons, was named first team All-MAC. And that Bailee Bowers was also named tot eh All-Freshman team. I saw Bailee play High School soccer last year for Dublin Jerome HS and was really excited when Coach Herlihy signed her for the Zips. She made the adjustment to NCAA D1 soccer pretty quickly. Shouldn't get my hopes up too quickly, but with only Amato leaving as a senior, 2020 could be an exciting time to get behind this program.

  11. Right.......a little hypocritical since you started a football thread about a first year coach who inherited a mess with: "Can we please fire this "coach"? Not at the end of the season. NOW."

  14. I think he inherited a nightmare. Not being an insider, I don't know the details of KD's departure, just that he took some players with him along with some recruits. I made the point at the time that those kids were recruited with the University's money, not KD's. That being said, I give him a total pass for year one. He walking into a mess. Year two he had some holdovers and some new guys, and people transferring out. This year is his make or break year. I am not saying he has to get to the dance, but he MUST have a winning record and be competitive in the MAC. This year's freshmen were sophomores in high school when he took over. He has had the time to recruit and train a team. He needs to get it done now.

  16. I'm able to watch the soccer game at the moment on the same network, so maybe the basketball game will be available, too. Can't seem to cast it to my Chromecast, though.

  17. I don't think anyone believes Groce's squads are better than KD's. Many of is do believe, however, that Groce's teams have improved every year.

  18. Don't we all.....though when I think of that year I also think of us owning OU in the MAC-C with Harney starting at PG. That makes me feel a little better.

  20. Last year I was not in the fire Bowden camp but rather in the please replace Milwee camp. That being said I do think it is difficult to just say a new coach is terrible in year one unless it has to do with behavior and discipline. While I certainly cannot say I am a huge fan of the Arth hire so far I do think, as far as my own opinion is concerned, that the jury is still out and probably will be until the midpoint of next season. I will continue to support my Zips as always no matter who the coach.

  21. The game should be streamed here; WVU's athletics website. The game is blacked out in the AT&T Sports Network viewing area. I don't know what that is but I know it's not us.

  24. Oh my bad. I didn't realize that "they do have to make it available" meant that they have to" provide it upon request". Whether to make a report available to the general public is most certainly the perogiaive of the school and so is the format in which the report is provided. Your belief that "there should be no cost for providing an electronic file" may be true if you are referring to cost incurred by the university, but they don't have to provide you with an electronic file. All you have to do to prove me wrong is request the most recent annual athletic report from the UofA and tell them you want it in electronic format. If you are correct they should do it for free, but don't be surprised if you get to pay for the hard copy of the report they send.

  25. I notice that the university policy you quote does not require that written records be released to the general public, and that a record requester may be required to pay a fee. If this is your way of saying I was correct, you were wrong, and you are sorry, I accept your apology.
