  1. Turnovers killed a great chance for a W tonight. Definitely saw some reasons for hope. It was nice to watch a competitive effort and some promising individual performances.

  2. I think that's the sign of a sound plan by Groce, one that we hoped for early in his stay here. Build it quickly to a successful program with transfers and jucos in the mix making it more and more attractive to top notch high school seniors that stay with the program for four years. I don't think he'll ever stop turning over rocks for top notch talent, but the math is pretty simple- 4>1 or 2.

  3. That hurt (as well as the interceptions), but check out the box score. The Zips actually outgained OU on the ground and also passing. I see a glimmer of hope.

  4. That pretty much sums up the situation with Pear. Great guy.

  5. He's got a little too much Brett Favre in his head... but not in the arm. Lol But this is true and at this point is extremely important. He's only a sophomore and the team plays with confidence with him lined up at QB. I LOVE Dollard. Man, have we desperately needed a legit RB for a few years now. So refreshing to see. My favorite Zip! Perhaps I'm biased because I'm also a 5-8 white guy? ? This OL is going to be the reason Arth turns this program around. I've never heard of 4 freshman starters on the OL. They're already full grown men and playing so well! They stopped the run and forced a few field goals in the red zone. They forced punts. Would like to see a little more pressure on the QB, but now I'm getting too demanding... I agree. He really cost us last night. I was thrilled when we signed him - his high school tape was excellent. I played corner & RB so I, naturally, like to watch and evaluate those positions - and I think I can, IMHO. I though Riley looked amazing. But he just gets beat left and right. Do we not have anyone better on the roster? Didn't Randy Cochran play more last year than he's playing this year? He started last year, didn't he? Loved it. We played two solid halves. Only the 2nd time we've done that under Arth. In hindsight we should have gone for it on 4th down with about 5-minutes left in the game, but at the time punting it away was probably the correct call. Kent is a buzzsaw! ? I'm thinking the same. December 5th we could get one in the W column! ?

  6. He wasn't picking a fight. An OU player knocked the ball out of his hands then gave Gibson a shove - which Gibson didn't take too kindly.

  7. The most painful thing about that QB list is that number 1 is from Stow and number 2 is from Midview. Number 1 (Vantrease) got no interest from UA. Not sure about number 2 (Crum).

  8. A testament to how low this team actually fell, we have seen them outscored 82-23 In two games and we are saying how much they have improved. I agree, though, on the improvement. The lines are young, Zach is a redshirt freshman and the running game already looks better than it has in 8 or 9 of the last ten seasons. This could be a tough year for sure. I think it really stinks that we missed out on the YSU, NMSU, and UMass games. All three would have been quite winnable. That said, for the first time in a long time last night I was able to think this team could be pretty darn good in future seasons once the guys get more experience, especially if some decent recruiting classes are on the horizon as well. I like Gibson. I think he possesses what it takes for the Zips to win. He does force the issue too much though. Are these freshman/underclass man mistakes that go away with more experience or is this the way he will always be? I know in general players are not losing their year of eligibility this season but with someone like Gibson playing 4 games last year to redshirt and still be a redshirt freshman this year, does the redshirt drop next year or will he have a third freshman year?

  9. I'm not sure either of these guys started last night, but two new players who made impacts on D last night were True freshman DL Janirr Wade (6-4, 288) and JUCO transfer OLB/DE Ryan McClain (6-4, 245) Both these guys helped the DL stop the run last night.

  10. after the game one player was trying to pick a fight with a couple OU players, and got escorted to Tom by a ref. Tom wasn't amused.

  11. The TV announcers did a nice job. They were knowledgable about the Zips and the MAC. Our kick off and receiving teams along with the turnovers killed the W, but an entertaining game.

  14. I was talking Demetrick. He played some last year before getting hurt and would add some much needed size at LB and might be otherwise starting, though I am liking what I've seen from Bischoff so far tonight.

  15. I watched the Hudl tape; on it Sekou is a man among boys. Short, slow, white boys.

  16. Good question. My knowledge of Africa is shamefully limited. Fortunately for us he made his way to Louisville, Kentucky. I have seen him linked to both Aspire Academy and DeSales High School. Not exactly sure how that all works, but next stop is Akron, Ohio. Giddy up!!! Hometown: Bamako (Capital), Mali, West Africa
