The results aren't acceptable for sure, but Jared is not the problem. He is capable and will make any changes that are necessary. Before anyone is foolish enough to talk about getting the pitchforks out realize that Jared was asked to run a top 5 program while losing a fulltime operations director, a volunteer coach, a grad assistant, and having his recruiting, travel, operations, and equipment budgets significantly cut. Judge him when he has the tools he needs to succeed.

That seems to be more football based. The basketball posters don't seem to have that aversion. They in fact generally want a more challenging OOC schedule. Maybe its because our basketball team generally has a chance of staying in the game like this than the football team. I'm confident that the basketball Zips will lose to the basketball Buckeyes by less than the 52 of their football counterparts.

You forgot to mention that Game Day is in Cincinnati with a head coach that Tom Wistercill didn’t think was as good of a candidate to coach at Akron as Rob Ianello. He said no thanks, Luke.

I want the best person we can find to run the program. A lot goes into this decision, a lot. I don’t care what their race is. Whoever the best we can get is what I want. I’m open to any race, let’s just get someone who can fix this. But keep in mind no one hires someone to fail but it happens regularly. Zips still have a decent shot at an NCAA bid IMO. They are currently RPI #24, and that won't move much. They would definitely get in if RPI was the sole criterion. They also have the #14 strength-of-schedule, and a significant win over #4 Pittsburgh. Record in last 8 games (one of the official criteria) is 4-3-1, including a win over the highest-RPI team in that group, #29 Penn State. Root for any team the Zips played to win against any team the Zips did not play!
