Zips are #6 seed and will play #3 Ball State in the last game on Wednesday. I've tried to attach the whole bracket graphic, but it says the file is too big. Worked fine for men's.
I like this post from over there-
First name that comes to my mind is John Groce. I know he’s at Akron, but have always been impressed by him and his teams. We need someone like him that has that fire in his belly. A proven winner that can recruit and gets the most out of his team.
I may be wrong, but I think this event is purely for the Tom Lemming (magazine?) photo shoot. That being said, it’s a great way to get recruits on campus to show off what Akron football has to offer. Even if it’s not in an official capacity.
According to ZipsWSoccer IG account, there is a women’s Spring match at Cleveland State at 1 pm today. Great to see Jen scheduling Spring matches.
Go Zips!!!

Toledo rides a 15 game winning streak into the tournament. That is good for best in division I men's game. You gotta figure that means two things. 1. They have played good ball over a long time span. 2. It takes a hellofa game to take them out and get it done. Of course they will loose before it is done. Lets just make sure that game is an Akron game. Let's go get this Zips!
Women rally 21-8 in 4Q to beat CMU 61-54. Probably not the first time a bad CMU team has failed to close this year, but credit to the Zips for coming back on the road.
My biggest hopes for the tournament lie in the fact that coaching makes a big difference this time of year and the Zips have the best head coach in the MAC.
I didn't realize NIU/EMU game was earlier today. And that should be the end of Emoni Bates's college career. Bates went 3 of 16 for 6 points. No words at this point.
The #8 seed will be either Miami, CMU, or BG. Miami controls its destiny. Will they pull off an upset in Buffalo like in 2020. If Miami loses, they need Western to beat Central.
Huger has been let go by BG. Not a big surprise, but it’s sad to see him to. He truly is a great guy, and I was fortunate to speak with him a few times. Always cordial. Perhaps to a fault, as he never got a lot out of those teams. He’ll make a great associate HC somewhere when he wants to return to the game.
